I've not had it for quite a few years. I used to get it quite a lot though...when I was at uni, my theory is that it happens more when you have loooots of sleep and lots of time in bed in half sleep/awake states.
So those who get it regularly, do you have a regular sleep pattern?
Yep. I get it quite a lot, at least twice a week, sometimes more often and usually the same dream of something coming through the window, [Never see it] but feel the weight of it crawl up the bed, feel the depresions it makes in the bed and I can't do a thing about it.
I call out to my wife but no sound comes from me even though I can see my wife and hear her breathing. I seem to wake up and think, thank ****** that is over but it isn't, I'm thrown back into the dream and this can repeat for 4 to 6 times.
I am on a lot of medication though including morphine and doc says it is down to this.
Can't say ive ever had the paralysis, if anything i move about too much in bed, usually turn around several times a night and every so often crack my head off the wall.
So who's gone and floated out of their body while paralysed?
You'd think that part happens more often, those of you who get it next time, calm down and try not to think about moving physically then try to shift your point of awareness away from your physical body, before you know it you will be flying around your room and can pass through walls and explore the world or enter the astral plane and stuff, DO IT!
not all sleep paralysis moments are the first steps to an out of body. this might have been mentioned but the body is paralysed during sleep to prevent you physically acting out your dreams.
A few times a year I wake up paralysed, doesn't scare me any more though. Can happen when I'm going to sleep sometimes as well with strange paraesthesias.

Yeah no doubt but you got to admit its the perfect state to relax and help induce one, i kind of wish i had these occasionally so i could more easily try astral projection, not had much luck with it, i only seem to get the energy vibrations, though i have had the odd lucid dream and stuff.
