Anyone ever own an Acorn computer?

I had an Acorn Electron - my first proper computer back in the early/mid eighties. It was donated by my Aunt and I had to buy a tape player/recorder to load games on it. Over the years I amassed a vast libary, but favourites include every Repton game ever made, Crazie Rider, Last Of The Free, Golden Figurine, Acornsoft Maze, Thrust, Starship Command, Paperboy, Codename Droid, Strikeforce Harrier and many, many others.

Yes, I own an Acorn Electron, BBC Master, A3010 and A3020.
I regularly play games on the Electron. Sometimes bring out the Master and occassionally there is time for the A3010.
Games I play almost every day are Snapper, Boxer, Birdstrike, Darts and Gun Smoke.
I was considering boxing the computers away and just playing the games on an emulator but decided against it. It's just that I have the following set up in a bedroom and it takes up a lot of space:

Electron, BBC Master, A3010, A3020, Amiga 600, Amiga 1200, Atari ST, Commodore Vic 20, Commodore 64, Commodore 128, NES (NES version), NES (Mattel version), SNES, SNES (US console, square with purple buttons), Sega Master System 2, Sega Genesis (US Megadrive), Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, N64, XBOX, XBOX 360, PS3 and finally a PC.

Do have more computers and consoles in the loft (e.g Atari 2600, fake SNES mini etc) but no room to set them up. Do bear in mind I also have 3 * 24" monitors, 3 * 15" monitors and 4 14" CRT TVs.

i used to have an acorn electron, althou didn't really play it that much, i used to play more on a BBC B and PC

I had an Acorn Electron. My favourite game was Way of the exploding fist, there used to be a little games shop near me where I bought my games on good ole tapes for about £1.99 lol

My dad had one and used to let me play cannon fodder, lemmings ect but i was always breaking it somehow so he only let me play it when he was around. Was desert strike on the acorn or am i confusing the acorn with the Amiga?

Your thinking of the Amiga.

Your leccy bill must be massive! :)

I had an Acorn Archemedies when I was like 5-6. My Dad pretty much forced me to learn to program on it :S

Only every played two games on it: Lemmings and Bug Hunter. To this day these are two of my favourite games of all time EVER. No modern game can even come close to Lemmings and I still play it. Shame the followup games were dog ****.

I remember we had 2 at my primary school when I was in reception and when I moved to Year 1 all of the classes were given proper Windows 98 machines :D

Gaming heaven! :) :)

I'd love to see some pics. :D

Just got rid of my 3010 - unfortunatly got the old green rust spreading through it :( can't get the HDD to spin up either and even if I could not sure how I'd get data off it (aware some flavors of linux can read ADFS but seems a bit hit and miss).

Never owned one.

My parents were unsure whether to get me a BBC Micro or a Spectrum though as my first computer.

My Dad chose the Spectrum+2 as he thought it was easier to use :)

I still play a game named Bug Hunter though.

Going to have to dig a tape out now and listen to for an ultimate nostalgia trip.

Starship Command was probably my favourite game on the Beeb. First game I ever hacked was Blagger on the Electron, a Manic Miner clone. I sussed out which memory address contained the lives and poked FF in there for 255 lives.

Used to play Arcventure, that was awesome.

Any idea if these educational games can be emulated? Would love to try them again!
