Anyone flashed there Vario II to wm 6?

All you had to do was download the .exe firmware version you want, connect Vario II to PC, establish and Active Sync connection, make sure PC is not set to hibernate or similar (not good halfway through a flash!), make sure battery is full and then run the .exe.

Really its as simple as the proper rom realease from t mobile then like when i had a mda pro?

Is remote desktop still there and msn?

edit: actually, I have another question :) Should I do the SIM unlock first before flashing?

You don't have to SIM unlock.

SIM unlock will allow you to use any carrier's SIM in the device.

CID Unlock allows you to load any carrier ROM on the device.

The .exe firmware files from XDA will temporarily Super CID the handset. This unlocks the CID allowing you to flash with whatever firmware you want.

okie, I have just flashed it with the latest WM5 and done all the configurations from T-Mobile website but my internet speed has gone down all the way to sub 100kbps :S

any ideas?

Well I had my Vario II since launch and was enjoying HSDPA speeds at home.

Download HTweakC (posted eariler in the thread) and used that to enable HSDPA. See what happens then. Also, what icon do you have beside the signal strength bar?

I used HTweakC to enable HSDPA already and I have "G" with full-strength atm

also, how do you change the function of the two buttons (rite above the "make call" and "hang up" one)? I was able to change them last time but cant find it anywhere now?

update: disable HSDPA and now I got 152kbps :o

Links to all the ROMs here.

The one we're using is the HTC 2.05.255.1 01/17/07 (top of the list).

MMS works perfectly here. Just make sure you visit the link further up the thread I posted. Instructs you how to manually enter the details step by step with pictures.:)

you must be on bootloader 1.04, click exit, leaving your phone on the 0% complete screen, run the rom updater again it will then flash it :) (explained earlier in this thread)

so bootloader is an app that's on the ROM of the device itself ?

yep, to find the version of bootloader your on - hold down the power button + the ok button on the other side & do a soft reset with the stylus :)

it's the number next to SPL

HERM300
IPL-1.01
HERM300
SPL-1.04

so i'm on that bootloader too?
if i flash to a newer ROM will this bootloader be replaced as part of the process or is it on a more permanent part of the device?

the bootloader will update to 1.09 with the rom we'll all using. 1.04 just means the first flash will fail, so you have to run the rom updater app on your PC twice
