I’ve been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the young ‘un. Was pretty shocked to discover it was over 20 years old! Still superb and very watchable apart from the crap third series.

are watching it off dvds or the HD version that on amazon prime. if it HD version be advise that they didn't do a very good jump in the HD treatment of it. if you google "buffy hd remaster" you find what happed with it or notice it while watching it.

just to add got thought first 3 disc of sharp and upto season 3 of murphy law. plus start watching Spooks current up to season 3 as 1-10 is on iplayer now.

Amazon in HD. You’re not the first person to mention this to me however, apart from a very occasional scene, the picture has been sharp and clear, maybe a wee bit overly bright. I’m just watching it for fun rather than to criticise the picture quality :D

there lot to it like camera boom being seen in the edge of the picture and other stuff like that, then colour correction etc. there a post detailing all the errors and stuff. but yes picture sharper and if that error or over correction doesn't bother you then it fine to watch.

just noticed they have Sapphire & Steel on channel called 'Forces tv' 23:00 David Mccallum / mss Lumley - set the pvr.
The full series is available on YouTube for free. Probably one of my favourite series ever. It scared me as a kid. I also sat down and watched them all with my own kids who both love spooky stuff and they agreed they were far better than most modern series.

The train station series was the best

Haven't seen the train station yet ....

but on re-watching the production is not as good as you remember, but, you can see that doctor who (Russell t etc) have taken ideas from these/this show,
I need to look for some episodes of the tommorow people, can't remember if that was as avant-garde.

BBC/independant budgets, at that time, were not up to some of american shows like time tunnel .

keep meaning to watch Knight Rider again, i havent seen that in years, loved this
also Airwolf
CHIPS
Stargate (to new?)
Quantum Leap
etc etc

Been watching the old TV adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy on BritBox and it is exceptional. Enormous fan of the book but had only really seen the average movie adaptation they made a few years back. Performances in the show are excellent and the way it transcribes certain events from the book are so well done.

Just watched Pheonix Nights and Max and Paddy again.

You might be thinking eh, this is a thread for old TV but Pheonix Nights was filmed 20 years ago!

Mythical 70's kids TV prog Catweasle is on again on the Talking Pictures channel on Sky starting this Wednesday, if you were looking for some nostalgia. Wish they would repeat Worzel Gummidge as well.

Just purchased the original 1960s Munsters & Adams family tv series.
Remember watching them as a kid back in the 70s, not seen them since so looking forward to reliving my childhood!

I rewatched it as an adult and some parts are still horrifying, got the DVD's years ago.

I think that is or was on DVD keep meaning to pick it up never seemed to able to catch it as a kid ITV had some odd scheduling as I recall.
Mork and Mindy is a good shout. Never seems to be shown on any of the usual TV channels, I wonder why?
'cos it was pretty rubbish when it originally aired!

I hated it as a kid but my sister loved it. Its really a vehicle for Robin Williams the so-called scifi is little more than window dressing if you like his zany sense of humour you'll probably enjoy it, not my cup of tea though.

Recorded this the the other day....my god how old does it look.
Still, it scared the crap out of me as a child! & Ms Lumley I used to have very naughty thoughts about as an early teen!

Cool. I remember this series and liked it, vaguely recall the plot but it was yonks ago - going to have to check this out.

I am currently looking at purchasing Miami Vice boxset. When originally aired, I was sent to bed; it was edgy like the Equaliser, being I think, ten years old at the time, not really suitable.

I remember the music of both show's more than anything. Got the original vinyl soundtracks of Miami Vice (at my parents) which is on the list to go and retrieve along with the rest (Rocky soundtracks etc) - although my albums are buried in the attic (they will likely make good fruit bowls given its been 30 years).

Had a look at buying the Miami Vice boxset, the price is a bit rich (£85) for the Blu-ray edition, so I am balking a bit.
