Anyone into RC?

http://www.horizonhobby.co.uk/autoo...s/j27rtrkitPages/j27_8ight_2/j27_8ight_2.html

This looks great.

All new to me though. Any tips where to start, what to buy and where to race these things?
Join the aforementioned rc site and browse the for sale section.....there's a lovely 8ight B 2.0 for sale in there at the moment.
Would avoid RTR kits if you intend to race.....some parts are weaker/not same quality as Race Rollers. ie shock towers and chassis are thinner and hence weaker and bend/break really easy.
Maybe see you on MB :)

I use to be aint got to time now tho mad actualy as i just dug me old car out and im going to sell it when i get the time.

its an

HPI rs4 sport 2 nice little car back in the days hehe fast to for a battery car.

Why so many electric RC's? :(

Nitro is where it's at!

You've got that right....leccy is gay :p

Wrong Electric and nitro are for da gayz :D

2 Stroke is where it's at right ;)

Don't they pretty much last forever? :p

Those parts are a damn site chunkier than nitro and electric cars. Shame about the price tags. :(

Yeah it will still be running in years without any need for me to do anything to it can't beat proper petrol ;):p

I hope that I don't break anything as it certainly isn't the cheapest to repair but it takes a good beating and hasn't died yet.

Oh tell me you have a Tamiya Wild One? Or a Lunch Box?

I always wanted one of them.

I've got a Lunchbox :D I've also got a Falcon, Sonic Fighter and a Madcap. All are being restored to as new state. A Wild One is definately something i'm planning to get soon for another restoration project.

Dude!

Awesome stuff. I just remember growing up and a mate had a Wild One which he painted in camo paint and he stuck a little toy machine gun on the front bonnet. It was THE singular most wanted thing in my entire life.

Had an hpi savage and a hyper 7

get rid of them after spending about £2k on bits and bobs over 6 months, stupidly expensive hobby imo, but awesome fun

miss her tbh:

Wow !! some fantastic models there. I used to have a Tamiya Sand Sorcher, Subaru Brat and Kyosho Beetle in the mid 80's, they were great fun but i wouldn't get into it nowadays as it is a bit costly for me what with now having a real car to run :)

Going to head to Youtube now and check out some old vids for a trip down memory lane :D

Allways wanted a sand scorcher when they first came out, started looking on the bay last year but they were going for silly money:(.Just by chance i checked ebay a month ago and found out the they have been re-released :D,so bought one 2 weeks ago.

Tamiya Sand Scorcher.....now that takes me back a few years....still got mine somewhere, think it's in my folks loft.
Bloomin wicked in its time.

I've still got my dad's old Sand Scorcher, it's undergoing a restoration at the moment along with my Tamiya Ford Ranger. The re-release of the SS has helped speed the resto up quite a bit :D
