Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

How? Every time when I click on the notification the card is out of stock already. I play this since last year.
There is AIB 3080ti's in stock right now if you know where to look, but the price is £1849.99 for the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti SUPRIM X 12GB OC GPU.

Also many other cards available from 3080s,3090s,3080ti,3070 and the AMD cards from 6900xt to 6700.. so not sure where everyone is looking but cards have been available all day from the FE drops to the AIB cards.

Don't ask me where, use your common sense to find the stock online.

Too many people complaining but not doing enough for themselves to find stock all the time now. Also complaining about prices all the time is not helping anyone, this is the reality of the situation we are all in. If you can't afford a certain range look down the range then if you really NEED a GPU if it's a WANT then wait and use what you have.

Anyone with a card on the way out or has checked out sadly get what you can for now and don't be too picky. I know sounds not too nice what I said, but sadly that's the reality and no amount of complaining is going to change things for now, maybe end of 2022 to middle of 2023 things may head back to "normal" but don't expect prices to be less than MSRP or any sales on these items to less than MSRP.

Even on here there is GPU stocks https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-components/graphics-cards?sPage=1&sSort=103

Also Gibbo and Scottie have been explaining this everyday now to people to the point they were telling people well cancel the order if you can't wait anymore or expect to maybe wait another 6 months or more for the order, also as we have seen cards are even going EOL while people have been waiting since September 2020 for them and now can't get that card anymore, but Gibbo has even been upgrading people to better cards for free to ease the preorder queues and all the updates all the time from them and so on, but lands on deaf ears all the time. Come on now.. Cards are available on and off and when they are get one and don't sit there waiting for it to go out of stock and hoping the price will be lower next time and then get upset when prices have gone up again or stock vanishes again for months.

Again if it's a NEED to buy, well buy when you can and find a price range you want to spend and stick to it, it may mean getting a lower tier card than what you wanted, but again if it's a NEED not WANT sadly we are all having to pay them prices now.

@Levis the above is not aimed at you but to the general community on here complaining all the time and clearly not doing enough or really don't need the cards and just complaining.

Funny thought. I've never paid more than £250 for any GPU. Increasing budget to £600 for a mid-range card isn't happening.

So honestly, I might never buy another GPU again :p

£250 might not buy you a mid-range GPU ever again. Or any GPU.

Everybody says costs are going up up up and we should all expect to pay more each gen. "5nm will be worse." 3nm will be worse than 5nm. Only one company can afford to build cutting-edge fabs. Mining is here to stay.

The whole picture is just bleak to the max.

This is the other funny thing people don't yet realise the next GEN cards if on 5nm are going to be silly money again and bad news too 5nm is not going to give huge performance increase over 7nm or 8nm we have now and same for power use. 4080 or 7800xt is not going to be cheap and not a huge bump in performance and prices are going to be silly again. Also I think all these next gen cards will be delayed too by 6-12 months before the usual paper launch and then everyone is back to square one as we are now, preorders stuck for over 6 months and prices going up and up as again we will get a fake MSRP from both Nvidia and AMD.

Nvidia atleast still sells at MSRP their FE, look at AMD ... the fake white knights that decided uk can't get any MSRP GPUs on their store or CPUs. Like I have been saying for years they are all as bad as each other.. This is why I don't have brand loyalty to any of them and buy what is best for me at the time from any of them doing what I need.

Next gen people are in for a real shock..;).. welcome to the new reality of PC tech.

£350 is the max i've paid.. a 7800GTX, was very luck because I got a LIFETIME warrantly on it haha gg BFG, it broke after a 18 months and they gave an 8800GTS 640 as a replacement.. shortly after they went bust *shocker*.

Paid £200-250 since then and stuck with "70 range cards of the last gen/refresh.. then the 2070 happened ! Needless to say i'm still on a 970.. the only card i'm really interested in is 3060Ti which I am actually willing pay £400 for.. i think.. 3060 is far too weak when compared to the rest of line up.

It has to get better or there will be no pc gaming market left if the current price situation continues. For most people the choice will be to get a console for about 500 rather than a PC system for 1000s.

GPU market is well and truly broken sadly. Seems Nvidia have joined AMD in abandoning the low to mid end market. I dont consider a 3060 mid end due to its price point.

You do realise they are selling out instantly ? Largest sales figures ever for Nvidia and AMD ?.. Proving the market can take it and just not enough supply to feed it, even with record sales.

The PC gaming market is not going anywhere, of all things it's got stronger and stronger over the decades. This is why we are all in this mess... many more people fighting over the same thing now. Proving how strong a market it is and the death of the PC has been said since the first PC came out of hobby stage to real products.. Mid-1970s...

The PC market is huge really and amazing to see how huge it has got over my lifetime and every year they predict its death... Right now the time we are in I have not seen it so big ever and how the general public have come to understand PC gaming and hardware. It's actually amazing what has happened, many on here as old as me and older will tell you the same. The PC was a nerds toy, now well everyone wants one.;)

Is it due to gaming or due to a massive increase in interest in mining? I'm really not sure at this point.

To miners, graphics cards print money, so the price they are willing to pay is just a matter of how fast it can print money vs how long it will take to pay off the cards.

I think mining is the bulk of the issue.

If a scalper sold a 3090 for $20,000, a miner would still buy it if it could print $20,000 in 6 months.

If you look at the amount of money TSMC are spending just on the 5nm die shrink any thing smaller if going to cost big.

The other crucial thing is that a gamer only wants one; a miner wants as many as they can get their hands on.

So the demand from miners vastly outstrips the demand from gamers.

It will all calm down. As everywhere unlocks, mining subsides and most people have a half decent card demand will drop right off. Happens every time. The big issue will be if there are loads of ex-mining cards floating around, new sales will take a hit. Unless I spot a bargain I'll just hold out for RDNA 3 now, I have plenty of other things to spend money on!

Yes I did realise - most of the threads are people stating they cannot get a card. Selling out is one thing - but in what numbers?

it will be while before it all unlocks large chunks of china are back under lockdown

most of them should be saying they cant get a card at the price they want to pay

loads of AMD cards about but overpriced

at the weekend oc had loads of 3060's across multiple models these didnt sell out till sunday night so live for nearly 3 days

you said it was impossible obviously its not

But its exactly what I did waited for an alert and got a card
Your reading comprehension sucks.

It's simply not possible if you have a job where you can't drop everything the millisecond the alert hits.

Those people just aren't getting one, full-stop.
got mine when I was at work

saying that at work now
Nothing you said contradicts what I said.
