Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

It looks like we things are slowly getting better! Looking at the sold prices for 2nd hand cards like the RX 580 is a good indicator of what's happening in the market. Just over a month ago those cards were fetching £300+ even for 2nd hand cards now they can be had for around £200. That tells me that supply is finally starting to catch up with the demand from gamers at the top and middle end of the market which is helping keep 2nd hand prices under control.

^ What I can't get is why we don't have a on markets (new cards) anything for low-mid tier. Around 1660Ti, 2060 S, 5700XT level of performance. I mean I get everyone wants the 30x or 6x series, but where are the others? In February 5700XT selling on another retailer was for around 310£ and suddenly all went off. A second one now is 400£+...

Exactly, lots of people still on 1080p and you can run that well on low end cards. It's almost like they don't want anyone to buy cheap cards. Nice gap in the market for Intel to fill...

Think I've said this before elsewhere, but a well-known high-street seller of used kit now actually has items in stock (unlike a while ago), and while the prices are still crazy (1050Ti for £200 or so), they can only go down.
Completed listing on the fleabay probably tell a similar story.
I made the mistake of selling by 1060 just before prices went up and am stuck with IGP (HD4000 since I'm still on a Ivy Bridge i5) or a 1GB R7 260X. Plenty of old games which work fine with those and the weather is too good anyhow.

One Aorus Master like those on sale for voucher till yesterday presented today on sale on FB market.. Meh... Prices will never get ok with people acting as thin as this.
I curiously checked the prices of GPUs in East Europe, where in the past I saw good deals. I am shocked to see on huge national retailers, that a 3060Ti goes for 1500£ :))))

think its just me being grumpy and full of heyfever

Is that when you run around screaming "Heeeey!!!" at people? :) In all seriousness, it's been no joke this year. My wife woke up last week unable to open her eyes for a few days until she got a prescrip...

I already see used prices going down a bit e.g. £1500 for 3080s instead of ~£1800 where they've been for the past two months. Still ridunkulous and not worth entertaining, but hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel.

I think the situation is slowly getting better as well.

I can see plenty of cards on sale in my area if I look at FB marketplace... plenty of people advertising them now, for lower prices. Many people showing them mounted in rigs etc, so I guess they are not making as much money as they were expecting or simply have decided it is the right time to sell them. I can also see people is asking for less and less money each week. I bought my 3070 a few weeks ago after months of waiting, so I honestly hope scalpers lose some money soon... wouldn't mind if all this explodes in their faces really.

I didn't even know you could do that really. I've seen quite a few selling a fair amount of unboxed GPUs and unboxed PS5. What bothers me really is that they tend to have various founders edition cards, when you're supposed not to be allowed to buy more than one. Loads of sellers now, hopefully won't be many buyers so some of them don't sell their stuff.

I feel you. In December I did pass my 2070 Aorus Extreme, from my son's PC for 300£, and it was still in warranty for the next 44 months :)). Now one goes for 500£+
Luckily I did get a 3070 from Gigabyte via Overclockers 3 months ago for my PC, but my son has a 780Ti and is going nuts :)).

there are several on FB within a couple miles of me, 3090's from 2k to 2.5k, prices have dropped a bit last couple of weeks. One even states 3 x cards available

Yea, not only are actual sold prices dipping some, there's a LOT more supply in the used market that's been sitting there for a week (instead of a day or two like the last few months). We're still a ways away from prices normalizing (and a below MSRP used price), but it'll get there -- there are literal boatloads of GPUs tied up in mining rigs right now that are starting to be offloaded.

calming down a bit rtx 3070 gaming trio £750 local to me a few weeks back that would have been £1000
Buy it now prices on the bay for 3080 Ti’s are dropping… silly scalpers are getting desperate and under cutting each other, in the £1.5k range now.

From £2k into £1.5k range, within 2 weeks from release. I hope these scalpers make as little profit as possible.
