Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

I do desperately need a new card but not desperate enough to get a scalped card or pay ridiculous prices for it. A few weeks ago i was ready to get a 3060 but the benchmarking is not worth it at all when you compare it to a 3070. For now, I can wait.
My view exactly, im still rocking a 750ti which tbh is okay for the games i play, overwatch, iracing but i got a nice shiny new rig and would be nice to ramp the settings up to ultra and play some more graphically intense games. I just cant part with £600 for 3060 when i should have a 3070 for that price.

People are still buying 3060's for £500 on auction sites.. makes me sad.

I really don't get the hysteria. For some reason the average Jo seems to have got it in their head that the 3000 series are unbelievably good. I mean they aren't. The only thing that made them good was their price and that soon went out the window. I have seen plenty of people trade in a superior 2000 series for a much lower down 3000 series and they are genuinely surprised when they find out that it's not as powerful as their old card, and they paid through the nose for it.

A lot of the hardcore gamer types are interested in the RT side of things and are willing to pay the price.

Shame OC are still putting stuff on the MM rather than the Graphics sub post :( I'd be tempted for a more reasonable price..

Is the graphics card deal sub forum actually up and running then? I saw gibbo mention it, but I can’t see it. There hasn’t been an MM deal for a while now.

Edit: Maybe it’s not available to people who do have MM access (like me)?

Whilst I don’t disagree about the price being too high, a 2070 super costs about £500 too. 3060 is about on par with that and people aren’t going to sell a 3060 for less money than a comparable card.

Edit: That said, I can see multiple new 3060s for sale at £540 right now. So paying £500 for a used one is pretty silly.

Interesting price changes again today.... First time I've seen 3080ti's from retailer under £1500 and 3090's for £1850 which is almost msrp on some cards.

OC have also dropped prices to under £2K for quite a few 3090's, it will be interesting to see what starting prices people will listing stuff on eBay for now.

Good news for some...

I've noticed the same and i'm still holding out in the hope that prices will reduce further! fingers crossed!

Quite a few "buy it now's" for around 1650 on 3090s - they are only making around 50 quid a card at that price (which is probably about the same as most retailers). The bottom of 3090 scalping fell out when the 3080ti arrived. People can still make around 200 on those.

Will a 850 psu be ok for the 3090.
It should be. But you need to provide bit more detail to be sure.
Whats in your build? Which 3090?

My rig runs on a 850W supply, and the highest at-the-wall power pull I have ever seen is 580W. Thats with CPU & GPU at 100% load.
Actually gaming tops out around 520W ~
