Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

It appears the UK drops are between 9 am - 10 am.

I was too slow on the 9:23 am drop for the 3080, but was lucky to get it at the 9:50 am drop.

If you have the money, the 3090 cards stays available for a bit longer.

I've booked Wednesday off work. What are the chances of a drop on that day? I wish drops happened on evenings and weekends to give the working classes a chance. Which is ironic since it's those who benefit the most from a cheaper FE card lol

Although obviously some people work shifts etc

You have extremely low chance , drops are between Monday to Friday and once been on Saturday , times are random but lately been around 9am, but in the past have dropped around 1-3pm and only twice in the evening this is counting 31 drops so far

Best chance is just to have alerts on phone and buy using phone or unless you can be on the computer but with work that's not always possible

Drops past few weeks have been happening once per week before it was every 2-4 weeks also not all models are dropped hoping they can continue with at least once per week so more can start getting cards sooner

Even than its luck last 2 drops I have been ready around 9am clicked the link as soon it alerted and still didn't manage got the add to basket but just didn't go in and I've heard others managed to buy after 20 mins of the alert going out , you just have to keep refreshing I managed to get the 3090 and 3070 into basket but want the 3080

It should be noted that there is often a delay of several seconds - and sometimes up to 2 mins - from the desktop alert and the mobile Discord push alert.

even telegram part alert ? because I get them earlier than the discord alerts, but if using mobile internet that could cause some delay

Sorry yeah I meant Discord. I never signed to up to Telegram. From what I can tell Telegram is a fair bit better/quicker.

So I tried twice to offload a 6700 XT on eBay. First time: full up abuse. Second time: it sold and immediately they requested to cancel. I even got abuse from the same person the second time round. Now I actually have a spare 6700 XT literally gathering dust in a box. Bought it meaning to put it in my water cooled setup, but after a few emails to Alphacool they confirmed they would never make a water block for that model. So how the heck do I offload it? I am happy to make a loss (paid £740, would ditch for a fair chunk less) as a lesson to check compatibility first, but other than eBay or Facebook (I actually had them cleanse all history of me as I hate their business model), what can I do? Just hand it to a local teen and tell them to enjoy?

Things seem to have mellowed a bit recently and I think prices or gpus may continue to come down. I think you may be lucky to make a profit on it/make your money back now unless you get lucky on ebay.

If you sold it cheaper you would probably get a more genuine buyer and not a time waster.

I was holding out but after selling a few of my model railway items it bit the bullet locally and paid £550 for a new sealed EVGA 3060.
