YOu can probably safely write off the first half of 2021, if not the whole of 2021.Don't give up, it's gonna be a long wait for the next generation of cards.

From what's being coming out in the press the demand isn't going away so capacity is going to have to improve which is happing but means we could stuck in this situation until 2H 2022......YOu can probably safely write off the first half of 2021, if not the whole of 2021.
This is (partly) why I'm in no rush to upgrade my ancient 1080p monitor. That and the state of the monitor market
But there would be zero point in a nice new high-refresh 1440p screen and having nothing to drive it (well). Don't think a Vega 56 is quite up to the task.

Strangely enough that's about when TSMC is expected to have it's additional capacity come online.the last 4 generations of cards have released in a two year cycle, 3 of them in September.
on what planet do people think Q1 2022 is going to be the release date for 4000 cards.
if will be Q3-Q4 2022. I don’t see them delaying it to 2023 as recent roadmaps have confirmed 2022.

Things change when RDNA's on your ass. Granted, I didn't expect Q1 '22 either but I think at this point '22 at all is probably overly optimistic.
Yup. You/I aren't getting anything even close to RRP.I've given up all together. Pointless
Yup. You/I aren't getting anything even close to RRP.
There's no point in even looking.
In my case I'm just not prepared to buy over RRP, so not expecting to buy anything anytime soon
If you want to pay 2-3x RRP there are cards about
Saw a Series S at what i think was RRP earlier. Dunno if still there, new gen games i'm not interested in so didn't watch/buy.
Any PS5s?
Series S is just a lower budget pc?No fraid not, i just looked and the S is still there strangely. Only saw it as on the front page before. Type Series S Bundle into google and you'll find it.

I can't comment on the situation for the big guys, but small retailers cannot sell at rrp, as they get them in from distributors at over rrp. I have seen some figures and 2 small retailers I know are adding less than 4% margin.Yah, I noticed retailers no longer sell for rrp, they see it fit to all start scapling on prices. Also, I believe that they are also doing anonymous scapling on auction sites using anonymous accounts.
I just can't justify paying £2,800 for a 3090 or £850 for a 3070 (if you win the lottery) more like £1,000 plus.
Truth be told, this is gaming armageddon. Shops can't even sell you a GPU or new gen games console.
one thing holding me back from 3080/3070 is lack of 3D support.
2080ti and below can still be hacked with 3D driver support but 3xxx series can't. This forces me to have to have 2 rigs now, one for media playback and one for higher end gaming which is an investment im ready to wait on,
