Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

I got a 2070 as my 5year work anniversary gift a couple years ago. That's turned out to be the best gift ever :)

Would like an upgrade to make use of all 120hz on my 5120x1440 monitor, but it'll do for another year.

The 6-7 year old 5820k and 32gb is still looking like an outstanding buy too...hard to justify an upgrade....

The only thing I would really like an upgrade for is MSFS in VR, but that'll want the next gen of GPUs to really do it justice anyway.

That guy who sold the 5700XT feels lucky now... Something fun though, 5700XT was on the stock of a big retailer this year, in Jan-Feb, at 310£ including delivery for like 2 days... Now sells 2x that price 2nd handed :)).
I saw in USA at one of the worlds biggest retailers, Radeon HD7770 for 200$ :)))))... That card was around 150$ back in the day, when I bought one. I believe it was 2010 or around that time.... Where the hell they held those GPUs for the last 10+ years? Because they had +200 in stock and "brand new" :))))

Crazy, I didn't pay that for my 6800xt.

Because your 6800xt can't achieve the same hash rate.

People still aren't 'seeing' GFX cards for the commodity they are. Those people who are swapping thier 6800XTs for 2nd hand 5800XTs are making money with them. This isn't about gaming. What they're 'worth' isn't based on their age or framerate in BF5 or whatever.

Scalpers/opportunists.

Another 3060 Ti drop a few mins ago, as soon as the alert pinged on my phone went straight to the page (mostly out of curiosity, it's not especially a card I'm after).

OOS by the time I'd even got past the captcha.

How is *anyone* supposed to be able to buy these?

e: This was for a FE card at you know where.

You should just keep refreshing the page, as I managed to add to basket about 5 minutes after the drop. Didn't buy though.

You should keep checking the links as declined orders reappear as cards in stock a few moments later.

I was for a couple mins. Never showed up as anything other than OOS for me.

So I'm stumped how you managed to add one to basket.

That could be it, then.

Still, what a crap shoot! There's virtually no chance of getting any of these FE cards. Imagine they'll all show up on eBay shortly.

What i did was keep checking the links in telegram, 3080 reappeared for a moment then someone snagged it, 3070 and 3060ti popped up again shortly after.

Snagged a 3060ti. Immediately hit the Telegram link, fumbled my way through the first captcha, messed up my login captcha, then had to add a bank card, and yet it all went through!

Looks like Telegram is quicker than Discord to see these alerts, then.

I reckon by the time the Discord alert hit my phone the jig was already up.
