Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

So no 3070s showing available on OC now. Did they sell or were they pulled to be put back on? Opinions - cause if they sold then that means people really will pay 1200 for a 3070 and I will have to make do with my ps5 for a few months :;

Nothing's going to change for some time. The best case scenario is if Crypto goes low enough to see a dump of mining cards into the used market, but that hope is increasingly looking unlikely now.

It boggles my mind that there is massive global demand from PC users and miners but only a couple of foundries actually making the chips and very complicated ones at that .

How is it ever going to be satisfied?

With all the profits that they are making the foundries are increasing production but that takes time, eg it is expected that Samsung can offer Nvidia more production later this year

Glad I kept my 3080 instead of selling it off. Didn't really have any games I wanted to play at the time so it felt like I wasn't making good use of it. Thought the stock situation would've improved by now but somehow it seems even worse.

It usually is satisfied and has been for decades now, we're just in a peculiar situation thanks to covid where the normal supply of cards isn't cutting it anymore with people being at home more and lockdown etc making people want to upgrade, and of course the mining boom also plays a factor.

Normally it be fine.
We just have a abnormal situation atm.
AMD make chips for consoles that has like 70% of capacity for them.
so it will get better at some point, question is just when

I reckon you may need to remove 'selling' from your statement.
I think he needs to remove msrp too.. Their prices have shot up too and anything showing msrp is because they never had or have stock and minute they do as with other cards it will show the real selling price. Also good luck getting one they are botted 24/7 and a total waste of time.

It's strange as I was so up for the latest and greatest and trade my 5700Xt then all the nonsense started and now, after paying less than £300 for my 5700xt, it's worth a fortune. I bought a couple of second hand 570's last year for my 2nd rig for 80 and 90 rips each now they're worth hundred and hundreds, seen a 570 gof ro 450 the other day... so I've just settled and keeping all my gear now for the next 18 months. Nothing I can;'t play so... let everyone get ripped off... as I won't be adding to this shocking nonsense tbh.

Oh! I didn't actually look, but was surprised someone saying their prices were MSRP. Company internet guys getting their website click targets completed - easy for them during the GPU & console shortage.

I guess when you typed 'bottled' you meant botted. Yeah I guess if advertising a no stock item for MSRP - the bots'll be checking that one hoping high street retailers will get an allocation as they should have some buying power.

I've been waiting for a while, I feel like based on changes to hash rate on newer cards, the slight downtime in crypto land and just supply chains starting to get going again, next 6 months might be a very nice time for gamers after the long drought.

Seeing a lot more cards come up for resale recently too, so feel like the top is in and things will start settling.
