Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

What a load of rubbish. Currys still selling at msrp.
In fairness - curry are showing msrp - but you cannot actually get any cards from them. To be clear I think 1200 is crazy but I don't think anyone has a supply of cards that you can buy at anything like msrp right now - if someone does private message me because my 980ti died last week :;

wonder how much this has affected the pc gaming market, especially in long run with loads going back to consoles myself included after 20yrs of pc gaming, it sad but cant justify insane prices, and tbh i dont think anyone is blameless in this from the amd/nvidia all way down to retail. though at least nvidia is doing something about it, though im guessing they have ulterior motives rather than helping gamers

Not like people aren't struggling to get a console either.

I bought an Xbox Series X on impulse this morning, given what's going on the with graphics cards.

Nearly every time I've bought a console I've ended up feeling it was a waste of money soon after, I bought a PS4 6 years ago together with some games and I think the only thing I've used it for is for playing media heh.

It seems good value though considering the strength of the components, and the fact I already subscribe to Game Pass.

I love my PC gaming, I would never play an FPS with a controller, it just feels wrong. But the PS4 has got some damn fine games no gamer should be missing out on.

Just to put some things into perspective. A chap near me who runs a business building pcs is selling new gaming systems with a 3070 for £1500. He is a registered company so has access to suppliers, and somehow he managers to make money selling a full rig for that amount.

Yeah I'll leave FPS for the PC, as I said in another thread I'm not bailing on PC gaming entirely, but maybe stuff like Forza, Fifa, etc I'll tackle on the console, and my son plays PvZ games using controller.

Is anyone actually buying from them tho? There are daily "alerts" for their drops but they all appear to be false positives that I've personally seen.

Either that or they are dropping single units of stock. But you can refresh the page all you like after getting an alert for them and never see any option to buy.

Nothing wrong with FPS on a console and controller, if I can adapt to it after 27 years of pc gaming anyone can

It's also much easier to get a console than it is a graphics card, took me two weeks to get a console once I had decided I have had enough of the increasing prices, this was in February and I'd been trying to buy a GPU since November

I have been on the last few days and confirm, spamming the individual pages and I have been way before any stock informer alerts, and I have got as far as getting something into a basket to get errors after.

PS did you see the stock of 3090s released there at £2900, away and ******* jump, are overclockers buying their stock from Ebay?!

I have managed to get it added to basket a few times (out of hundreds maybe) but then it crashes out during payment. Bots are too fast on there/ Maybe they do not have as many dropping at once and I am too slow.

Same as that. I managed to take one through checkout once but got a cancellation notice within about ten minutes.

This latest round of prices from Overclockers is very depressing, they must be fully aware of the price of a whole rig so appear to be aiming this stock at the crypto market.

It's ok - we'll remember this.

I don't think its being aimed at crypto market, no miners will be buying at this price right now. Maybe some would have a couple of weeks back, but currently its not a wise move. The other explanation could be pre-empting the price increase/demand for the non LHR cards as they are being close to release now.
By pricing above CEX price they have eliminated the opportunist scalper, maybe also taken out some of the smaller/pt miners from the equation. CEX is part of the problem imo.

page reports 900+ people viewing, with so many people running Distil or stock watchers, so if they are getting 10-20 drop of a card which is the number of cards OCUK say arrive to fill back orders then it's no surprise that only a few will make it to checkout. Also stock seems to come and go several time as orders fall through.

Maybe they won't with ethereum set to change, but I can't see many gamers paying these prices.
