Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

I wonder if all these crazy prices are taking gaming back to where it used to? Older gamers on PC as it was expensive and younger ones on PC as they were much more affordable.

Well it looks like AMD stock is no longer an issue, I'm getting bombarded by stock alerts for loads of retailers.

Just price an issue now.

It was super expensive in the 80s, but by the 90s it wasn't anymore.

My first GPU was only £100 iirc (if), Guillemot Maxi Gamer3D from Virgin Megastores.

Also in the 90s you had the rise of Cyrix and AMD and Intel's prices were falling.

Followed by the 3 people who managed to get one coming here and saying, "It's easy, I did it so if you didn't you weren't putting much effort in!"

And everybody else raging :p

Ha, ha, so true.

And to think someone on here said I was stupid for getting a 3080 FE in the last drop when Ti models are about to launch!

I see a competitor has the 6900xt strix in stock. £1500.

Also seen an Asus MBA 6700xt at competitor, £839.99, which is over double what AMD say the reference design should be and more than any AIB partner card at OcUK

Some light at the end of the tunnel. Been looking for a 6700XT for a while, seems stock is actually arriving, though retailers are still at scalper prices. At least the scalpers are stuck, hopefully with lots of inventory, and hopefully they get burnt tbh

There's a few on the bay I've seen sell for just £200 over MSRP, and some poor sap has been holding one since 5th unsold. Good!

"Brand new bought off <competitor> website, 5th of may drop. Will dispatch this to you day after purchase" hope you keep it chap

I've given up, I'm not paying the ludicrous prices either, they are way above the initial price. I just hope all this madness calms down as my 980ti is showing its age. I just hope the 3080ti launches at a normal price.

I recommend the Red Devil 6700 XT... a fantastic card. Recently installed one and blown away by it.

Playing older games is great.

Working through my Steam library now as I've just got a great new work laptop with a Ryzen 7 and integrated Radeon GPU. Seems to play older 2014-2016 titles with ease and I've got plenty to go through.

plenty of amd stock as theres not a rush for them no more, they arent great mining cards,, wouldnt say they bad just ampere is far better, once we see plenty of stock of the 30 series cards, then we will know its only a matter of time before prices wil start to fall, few more months yet i think
