Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

By the time you get one, it's likely to struggle with newer games at 4K, due to it's tiny 10GB VRAM. If you're not playing at 4k, then a 3080 is complete overkill and wasted spending IMO.

My two screens at 1440p are enough for me. The 3080 will be good for futureproofing my workstation for CAD. The games I play probably won't need anywhere near 10GB VRAM. Factorio, Planet Coaster and maybe sometime soon Satisfactory.

Not really, 1440p or 3440x1440 Ultrawide is still quite hard to drive with all in game options set to Ultra especially if you need 144fps minimum for a 144Hz monitor. Aren't there even 360Hz 1440p monitors now? If so you'll be wanting 360 FPS minimum at 1440p, my 3090 won't even do that with Ultra game settings.

I can confirm that haha. That is what I am running at the mo, 3440 x 1440 144Hz. The 3080 can’t reach into the 100+ FPS for Cyberpunk, but boy does the visuals look good.

My 3440x1440 is just 100Hz so I'm sitting pretty at the moment with my 3090, I get all the visuals and a decent FPS :D

ComputerBase have updated their price tracking effort story again (well last Friday, but I just noticed now):

or my take using their figures:

Rumours point to the RX 6600 XT being introduced at $399 which seems poor value compared the other RDNA2.
Looks like AMD are trying to get some the extra money these high prices have caused.
Should be embarrassing to them if prices keep creeping back to normal and they have reduce the RX 6600 XT a few weeks after it launches.

I know… there was 9x 3080 Suprim X with a UK retailer for £1,199 yesterday, all gone today.

I saw that lowest I've seen for awhile great model too still too much if it was around £800-£850 I would bite but thats unlikely anytime soon trying to hold out for 3080fe drop

They had another 5 up later on. All sold this morning.

There will be people out there who cannot hold out.

Yeah seems like each time price lowers we get new batch of people willing to pay stock is staying up longer but wished people just refused to pay this much still just prolongs it

Well today I got called 'entitled' for saying I would absolutely not buy a 2nd hand GPU this year unless my current one outright dies because I'm not taking a ragged out, year old, ex-mining card for more than RRP.

So I guess miners are starting to get edgy and thinking about unloading their hardware? Miners getting out can't be bad news for anyone who wants to use their PC for games, as the good lord intended :D

Let us pray for real stock soon...

I wouldn't buy a used GPU at the minute unless it was still factory sealed.
