Anyone playing Company of Heroes?

Has anyone done the mission where you have to take the "hill" in under 50mins?
I just dont see how it is possible, no where near enough time to amass enough resources to put a sizeable force together.
What tanks you do have time to build get wiped out on the way there
Although you don't realy loose if you dont pull it off, I wanna see what medal you get if you do. Any tactics would be nice so share the knowledge.
Erm, is that after the other hill one? The forces you start with on the second depend on how much you had left over on the first.

I finished the SP campaign on Sunday, the final missions are really enjoyable.

Took me a good few hours but I finaly captured Hill 192, how anyone can do it <50 mins I don't know. Talk about one of those games you start playing at 10am and before you know it, it's time for bed. Guess time fly's when your having fun :D

SOOO TRUE! I'm like "I'll take a break from my Assignment and just play for an hour." Then 3hrs later I'm like, "ah bu****!" Lol :p Great Game!

Ah, that hill. It can be done as long as you don't have any feelings for your troops. I spammed it with men. :D

I found the whole thing dissapointingly easy on normal level.

I missed a few medals but only becuase i wsnt paying attention, or they were silly ones like kill 250 people before the objective. about 30 seconds before i was about to do the objective ehehe.

That hill one was pretty nasty but i had so many veteran troops and u get a heck of a lot of time to build some evil defences.

I've obviosuly overlooked something simple, but how do you know what you have to do to be rewarded a medal?

in the bottom left with your objectives, there is usually objective, which is for the medal. Eg, Kill 250 people, destroy something, take something within a time limit, etc

What he said.

On the later levels you get the "HOMEWORLD" voiced bloke saying "those paratroopers are cut off rescue them" sort of prompt

Its either VERY obvious or slyly hidden in the bottom left.

sorry to highjack thread a bit..

what specs are you guys running on?

i've got a spare 3200 a64 here, so just bought a £30 motherboard to play this (i'm away from my main rig for a few weeks, which is a lot better than the kit i've got here!)

spare parts i have here..

3200 a64
2gb corsiar
200gb wd 8mb cache
6600gt

^is that ok to play this game?

Really is an excellent game, a lot of fun, challenging and addictive!

I dont know about anyone else but its taking me a while to complete the missions one by one as I like to take my time but its hard going even on normal. So many choices on how to best use your resources.

Recommended by me and it will continue to be played on multiplayer when I have finished *** single player as I am finding the Axis AI challenging enough let alone someone that has been playing it solidly.

This game was a great example of how demo's and beta's work for game launches, both those files pulled me in to pre-ordering.

Adsactly the same as my setup near enough, I have 1gig ram though and it plays just fine. Even with a lot of stuff running in the background, as in other games minimized.
I did drop the textures to minimum though on the later bigger maps as it was startng to stutter a little.

cool, thanks for info, ordered

i usually only play one game at a time anyway :o

plus, have a 'games' account in windows which stops unneeded services and programs as it turns on

It actually seems to scale really well. I can play it maxed out without any stuttering, yet I've seen pretty low-end machines run it really well too.

I am useless at RTS games even though I do enjoy them. How many difficulty settings are there and how easy or difficult are they. If there is a pause function does it allow you to give orders while paused. I tend to start panicking in real-time RTS games when things start going wrong - not very good at multi-tasking.

Easy mode is, well, easy. What I like about it is that on the campaign you can tightly lock up your base, allowing you to 'screw around' whilst attacking. You'll be fine.

On hard its a real challenge !
I'm on the mission where you take the town and have to hold it for 30 mins while getting pouned by krout tanks and Nebelwerfers - those darn things are harsh!
Still can't do it - i always loose :(
