Anyone playing Company of Heroes?

That mission was tough... I just managed to hold them back on Normal difficulty (had a few Rangers left at the end) but at one point the point was back to neutral and I luckily regained it. V.tough!

Its fairly easy when you know which way to play this mission. I just done it on expert :)

If you need any tips just give us a shout ;)
 
My PC keeps locking up on Hill 192 :(
I thought I was doing quite well, had half the map in 20 mins, was fairly soon to make a move on the town

Heat issue?

I'm sooo glad I've managed to complete everything. I can go through the game again whilst setting my own goals. Infantry only ***!
 
I'm not very good at the demo! For some reason, I seem to have difficulty even beating the easiest AI on skirmish :confused:


Maybe I'm just crap ;)

I got through all the previous levels fine

I think my Pc is probably dieing, its in fairly dire need of a total rebuild

Build it a boat, put it on the boat, push boat out into the sea, fire flaming arrow at boat.

Just managed too finish mission 8 it is the one where you need to hold the town for 30mins was fun gonna start hill 192 tomorrow, really enjoying the single player game its great.
 
that town one was a pain, holding it for 30 mins. First attempt on hard got totaly wiped out of the sq lol, promptly lost it after that

Second was better, but was still close. I had 3 shermans take out the nebelwefers.

Im currently on the mission where you have to capture 7 points around the axis base and surround them. Pain in the arse.

What was amusing, used the infantry reinforcements, got the tank destroyer (M10 ?) and about 4 units of mortars. Second time round got 3 lots of mortars. Barrage For the win!

Anyone noticed with the infantry reinforcements, that everytime you use it, you get better troops?

Its hard to compare it i think, as several aspects are different from a lot of rts's ive played. Seems you dont need that good a pc to run it. Whats your spec?
 
I was able to play it fine on my old system - A64 3000 (754) and an x800xtpe

I've now moved over to an A64 4000 and an x1900xt which allows me to play it at high res at my 2001fp's native res :) - bit laggy now and again but it looks nice :cool:
 
mine arrived today, installing now

must say the manual looks (and smells) a lot like the good old Red Alert ones :)

Calling in Vet. troops costs loads more than normal, I prefer to build new and let them fight their way up.


Does Veterancy make that much of an improvement to the squad? How can I tell any possible difference?
