Anyone quit WoW and looking forward to going back?

Some kind of Tapas you say

There is stereotyping with WoW because for the most part, it is right. Just check out the offical WoW forums for confirmation ;)

ZOMMMMMMGGGGG NINJA AGAIN, plox dunt grp with dis guyz they kicked me ....NERRRRRRRRRRRRD RAAAAAAAGEEEEEEE

There are exceptions to this, but its far and few between ;)

I'm at work i don't have time to always proof read ;)

Well at the same time i agree i also disagree, this is exacly the same in every aspect of life or game. a lot of console gamers will most likely play Halo more than us PC gamers with wow, but they don't get targetted?

I always look back on it with rose tinted glasses, TBC ruined it for me, WotLK actually reinvigorated my interest, but I have another half who won't let me sink my time into it anymore, which is good. I won't be trying the new expansion, but I'd like to give it a go :).

This is why I don't read the forums anymore, if you do you lose sight of the fun and get sucked into the omg my class is nerfed rubbish. Mind you ALL game forums are exactly the same not just WOW.

Have you checked the Steam or IW forums recently?

Does that make every game made by either companies ever terrible and all their fans nerds?

The fact of the matter is that every game whether online oe otherwise has a following of complete morons regardless of the content and unfortunatly these are the things that tend to rise of the surface, people don't tend to talk about "that bloke who was polite and just got on with the matter at hand" and seeing as WoW has such a monolithic player base you are going to get more of both whatever you do.

I have played WoW for a few years and yes I have encountered every wow player stereotype under the sun but the majority of the players I have encountered are just normal, polite and decent people playing a game because they enjoy it.

In fact I encounter a much higher percentage of complete ass hats in games like CoD, CS:S, GoW and Halo than I ever have in WoW.

Oh yeah I agree with your point dude, the difference is that WoW has 10 million plus subscribers so they are the bigger target to point at rather than a game that has much much less gamers.

No, should I? I don't think I have ever used there forums.

Well thanks for the "Mr serious anti-pro stereotype WoW comment" but your own opinion of what you see in your own community (such as your own guild with very limited players who will have to get on with each other in order to progress in raids) doesn't really count for much.

As my comment above goes really, WoW will be targeted because of the larger fan base.

Just because you spend most of the time raiding with your guild or (dare you try to) pug level 80 instances it falls into the same catergory as playing an instance for a means of farming loot, not conversation. How often do you go into a pug heroic or raid and have fantastic conversations? I mean really open your eyes here, any PuG is 90% garbage or trash talking or even arguing with players you don't know.

Don't kid yourself dude. It's a great game, sure it can be addictive (which I won't take away from it) but the community is far from holding hands and singing in circles.

I used to play Final Fantasy 11 and got seriously addicted to that. In order to get anywhere though you HAD to be in a group, which took a while to organise. When you were in a good group, you just didn't want to leave which meant many late nights/early mornings. It felt more fun/social though.

Then decided to try Wow 'cos a few friends were playing it. Played my first character pretty much solo to a high level, and then about a year ago got a character up to level 80 as apparently "that's when it really gets good"...

....but I found it boring, repetitive, and the constant updates kept messing up the balance, resetting all my skills options (as well as changing how some of them worked so had to learn how best to do things again) and generally playing havoc.

PvP seems to have deteriorated into a "whoever has the best armour/equipment wins" contest, and getting such armour was a grind - then was made available in the next updates for anybody to buy (for silly amounts of money, which people just bought in real money transfers) and in my opinion was getting silly.

The fact that most of my mates who used to regularly play have given up was the final straw - I canceled my sub a few months ago.

Now trying Aion since it's launch, which I'm quite enjoying - although not got a character high enough to try out PvP yet.

The only thing that I've noticed that I would be vaquely interesting in in the next expansion is the ability to fly in the old/original areas, making exploring a lot easier. Don't think I'll be back though.

Never been quite as addicted since FF11 though. :D One of my mates played loads on Wow and had several (if not more) level 80 characters..
