Anyone quit WoW and looking forward to going back?

I played vanilla up to the Ahn'Qiraj patch then quit.
I played The Burning Crusade up to the Black Temple patch then quit.
I payed Wrath of the Lich King up to the recent Coliseum then quit.

I guess I'm set to play Cataclysm for a set period unless another MMO comes along, i enjoy the game for a certain length of time but there is only so many times i can do the same instances / areas and poor excuse for pvp until i get bored of it.

I quit, do not miss it and do not want to go back.

Could probably walk right back into a Top 10 guild and do content but what's the point? Smash it in a week then back to the same old routine that I quit for in the first place!

No thanks, no rebound to WoW for me :D

I always feel tempted to start up again to waste some spare time but I would end up either totally addicted or i'd hate it and would have wasted the money buying it :o

Classic - and to an extent TBC - was the most fun and immersive gaming experience I've ever had. I dread to think how many hours I've spent playing WoW. But as soon as WoTLK came out, I lost that feel I used to have. After just a few days I felt the whole environment and experience change to something much more commercial; it wasn't vanilla any more. That 'homely' feeling I used to get felt traded by Blizzard for "CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT!!".

Blizzard (quite rightly) believe that people will stick around and keep paying for new content. The game - at it's core - is broken now. But as long as there's a new instance, or new armour set, etc., the money will keep pouring in.

I'd trade you a guild "lowbie" Wailing Caverns run on teamspeak for Naxx 2.0 any day.

I miss WoW. But there's too much of it - both in and out of its realms.

Yeah bang on for me.

Because you only play games for graphics ;)

And no offence but LOTRO is not a better game, by any regards.

Gameplay wise WoW has absolutely nothing wrong with it..

I never stated once there that i play games for graphics, and that my comment was a world wide statement, it was basically a personal preference.

Everyone would agree that graphics do make a game, despite the storyline and gameplay having a bigger impact, but i like my games to have a storyline that will get me involved, topped with nice graphics to get me more glued to the game, and decent gameplay to keep me playing it. I just think the developers could concentrate more on making WoW more updated in the eye candy department, and keep with technology like LOTRO is doing, and keep expansion packs on hold or do both at the same time like LOTRO is doing, it's one of the things the majority of MMO's lack.

Life is much better now without WoW, used clock 20+ hours a week. Wotlk was so boring, it got to the point where I was doing 5 man boxing = ) When Blizzard suspended all the accounts but by the time they re-opened all my accounts 2 weeks later, I've lost all interested in WoW.

You said you wouldn't play it with its current gaphics, unless they updated them. Presuming or not you still partially implied it :)

To be fair 20 hours aint that much.
I managed to clock 50-60 hours on MW2 on the first week of release....

I think theres a reason i don't play it so much now

I used to hardcore raid in a world 200 guild. The amount of energy and time it drains from you is astonishing, my life was generally dedicated to playing wow. Most days I would play at least 8 hours a day! Ridiculous. Forget uni and a social life all that mattered was keeping latency low as poss, making sure my rotations we're top notch, reading up and theorycrafting on tactics and improvements, ensuring I was fully awake for progress raids (had enough sleep and was well fed).

It was insane and I'm very glad I gave it up. It's nice to be up to date with uni work for once! and to have some time for a social life and other stuff :)

That is a lot considering I've a wife and 1 year old daughter when I was still playing WoW. My hardcore gaming days are over :D I get about 2 or 3 hours gaming time each week.

I quit, the end game is just repetition, repetition, repetition day after day, nothing changes.

Its fine for the first 2 weeks or so at 80 when everything that is accociated with be ing 80 is new to you buty after that it's just sickening. After 3 months of being 80 it just felt like, ToTC 25 Hard mode, again? *sigh*. I just got sick of healing people that weren't paying attention and wiping us, and making me pay for repairs that weren't my fault. And playing healer you get plenty of opportunity to sit back and play "Spot the retard".

But yeah, its just the endless repetition that got me in the end, there was nothing new, its just constant soul destroying grind. Housemate asked if I was coming back for Icecrown Citadel. Am I ********! It'll be interesting the first weeks then it'll just be the same as the rest of the end game.

I mean sod that, I'm not paying for something that I no longer even like playing.

I'm going back to EvE, at least you can scam people there without a GM coming along and slapping you on the wrist. Apparently "stupidity tax" isn't acceptable in WoW. :(

I've barely played since just before Uldaur launch, but just been playing in the last 2 week, gotta admit im really back into it now.
Been waiting for this patch since launch of WoW.

I'll raid Arthas if its the last thing i do

Depends if you like the story behind it guess also, as you can tell im a massiver nerd for the lore.

I've quit WOW twice now. The first time was when I played to level 70 as a hunter (Before the WOTLK expansion came out) but got bored. When the next expansion did come out I then created a Dk and got to level 80, done a few raids but again, got bored.

The problem for me is that I don't want to have to commit like 4-5 hours of my time on a single raid, I'm more into PVP than doing raids. I would rather spend 1-2 hours or however long I like knowing I can just lave at any time if I’m not in the mood.

I think that is it for me. The latest expansion doesn’t do anything for me so I most likely wont be buying it.

I havent logged in for about 6 weeks. Im waiting for the urge to go back and play but it hasnt arrived yet.

Ive had a lot of fun with the game over the last few years, maybe my time is just up.

Played the game for a year solid and the first 6months was great fun. After that it kind of lost its fun for me. Have played on and off the past few years but this time i wont be back. I find when im playing WoW its the only game i will play. And their are so many other games out their then just WoW.
