Anyone remember what graphics card they first used?

Hmm 1996 so probably an S3 Trio Virge 2mb

First 3d card was 2x Voodoo 2 running on SLI, How i remember thinking it was amazingly fast at the time.

Matrox Mystique and soon after i got a vd1 when they came out and it was  when i played quake 2 it even made quake 1 look a lot better.

A Trident 1/2MB graphics card, a monster in it's day. Could render 4 colour pixels at 640 x 480 rez like nobody's business.

I remember the first card I bought, a matrox mystique, about 1996 i think. I remember loading up Tomb Raider straight away and the difference being amazing, the biggest upgrade ive still made i reckon. You got a few 3d games with it, Monster Truck Madness and Destruction Derby 2, they made my eyes bleed with goodness.

Even then the voodoo?, yes the mystique was good but really for me it wasn't jaw dropping (maybe that was because i came from amiga? or because it was in the first pc i got and that set a benchmark for pc gaming) now i still remember q2 with the voodoo

Well it was going from non 3d to a proper card that did 3d, the tomb raider patch turned it from a bit of a mess to something that really surpassed the playstation version at the time by quite a margin.

Some Matrox that came with my Packard Bell.

worst thing was when i upgraded to a TNT2 i had to place all the original parts in to reinstall windows from their disk

Matrox II 2mb. First 3d card(s) were 2 x voodoo2 12mb in SLI - running the original Unreal in Glide after only playing on a Matrox G200 previously was a truly draw dropping moment.

Diamond Monster 3d 4mb

and a Matrox Mystique to go with the others.

To the guy who said the Orchid Righteous, that was a cool card, happy days.
