Was watching Sky News and saw the lightening during a piece in Downing St. Saw it on TV and through the window at the same time (10ish miles away). Love a storm.
My friend has a border collie. Very sensitive to thunderstorms than most dogs. She seems to hide and quiver in the smallest space. One place she does this is the back of the sofa.
When I was a kid I used to go camping with my cousins once a year, to a place in South Africa called Wagendrift. Every night without fail at around 20:00 we'd be treated to the most spectacular storms I've ever seen. Some people used to go in to the clubhouse but most of us just chilled in the tents. The campsite had a few lightning conductors dotted around the place though so it was fairly safe.
I love it, but remember once at work when a storm went over us, we heard the biggest bang we've ever heard. We thought the massive gas heater had blown up, looked outside expecting the building to be gone lol.
The computers on the test system went crazy.
Lightning must have struck one of the detuner stacks.
Did I mention it was a big bang, it was crazy!

Havn't had a decent one for so long I've almost forgotten what they're like best we've had lately is some faint rumbles in the distance and and far away flashes. House in a neighbouring town's roof was struck last night you'd have to be crazy not to be a little bit concerned during a storm.
