Anyone using Wegovy?

I can't comment on your diet but if you're in Fuerte Ventura, rent a car from the hotel and drive to the most remote beach in the world, aka. Playa De Cofete. it's a fantastic day out and as far as I'm concerned one of the few redeeming features of the island.

We're in Caleta de Fuste and it's great.
We found a bar that has a live band on every night so very happy.

You must be pleased/relieved the DM is finally being controlled

You have no idea how much, 17 years I've been all over the place blood wise.

Update from me. As i said earlier i was on Ozempic for a over a year and a half for diabetes. I lost 2.5 stone. For about a year i stopped losing weight and actually put back a stone. So i asked the gp to move to Mounjaro as losing the weight helped my blood sugar and blood pressure. These started to rise again. So now after 4 weeks on 2.5mg Mounjaro i actually put on a kilo. This thursday i start on the 5mg. Lets see if i start losing weight again. No side effects at all so far. So i'm wondering how the 2.5 dose Of Mounjaro compares to the 1mg dose of Ozempic i was on? Is the 2.5mg mounjaro a lower dose than 1mg Ozempic?

Yes, it would be comparable to the 0.25mg starting dose of Ozempic.

I'm still gonna recommend it. The car hire cost us something like £50 for a day, they drop it off at the hotel and collect it the next day, no deposit either. Couldn't be easier. The drive to Playa Cofete is insured on most cars, but not all, so be sure to check. It's a drive straight off of Top Gear, hands down one of the best drives of my life.

Do it, it's worth it. Trust me

EDIT: Here, have a look:

(I'll shut up now before I derail this thread :p)

Don't forget from a research perspective generally any real changes weren't seen until the higher doses, they are simply to slowly get your body used to the drug and stop you quitting a week in because you've crapped yourself/want to rip your insides out/can't poo for the life of you.

Everyone is different

I'm down 11KG after 6 weeks (4 weeks 2.5mg, 2 weeks 5mg Mounjaro) from a starting point of 136KG

I'm averaging ~1800 calories a day and aiming to walk at least 5K. It's very much "turned off" my desire for crap food and booze

So half way into a week on 0.5 ozempic. Some of my normal foods are no longer happy with me. Ramen and even soup. Got the proper tummy rumble like a film when they show the person is about to explode and then had to run to the bathroom . Not fun at all.Hopefully this settles down. Dietician is worried about my lack of absorption with my Gastric bypass so to take Hydrolysed whey protein and possibly even looking at meal replacement shakes.

I've been on semaglutide for 6+ months, couldn't afford the branded stuff but it's been working well
Not looking to lose weight now just control appetite and blood sugar. So far so good and I've been on 0.5mg. The way I feel about food now is the way I always assumed normal people feel.

about 7 months in, and midway through my 15mg pen
weigh in: 80kg (97kg starting)

i'm too small for my clothes now and incidentally i'm decluttering so have some clothes i last wore in 2013...and they fit!
gone from a 36 waist to 32 now
i went on holiday to USA a month ago and had to take off my belt during the security checks...had to hold my jeans up walking through the scanner (i think the security guys were secretly laughing)

I've just taken my 10th dose of Mounjaro, started on the 2.5, then 5 and this time I stuck with the 5mg. Slightly regretting that now and I think I'll go up to 7.5mg next time.

I've lost around 16kg since starting, from 120kg to 104kg. I'd already lost 4kg beforehand from changing my diet.

No real side effects apart from a little heart burn and being super cold. One thing I find really interesting is that I've done very low calorie diets before (cambridge plan with just soups and shakes) and I felt like crap. Even when I've done healthy eating but low calories, I've generally been foul mooded and occasionaly shaky / faint. With Mounjaro there seems to be no side effects from not eating, no moods, no low energy, no tummy grumbling or anything. So much so that I have to remember to eat at times.

I've combined it with cleaning up my diet, cutting out the crap, reducing portions and focussing on lean protein, fruit & veg. Also walking 2 x daily.

Overall, I'm very happy with it and looking forward to more of the same. I'm going to start some resistance training too, so will see how that goes.

Today I took my second 5mg dose. Mounjaro so far is having zero effect on me. I saw the go for an unrelated problem and mentioned it and asked if she can change my repeat to 7.5mg for next time. She said 7.5mg is quite a high dose? She has asked me to do a food diary so she can see if it's what I'm eating or to go up in dose. She doesn't seem too keen on moving me up higher and keeps saying it can cause gallstones which I know about. I'm not sure why she says 7.5mg is a high dose when it goes up to 15mg. I think after a year and a half on Ozempic has made my body used to it.

7.5 isn’t a high dose. The maintenance doses are 5, 10 & 15.

2.5, 7.5 and 12.5 are meant to be stepping stones to the maintenance doses. I guess only because they don’t have the clinical data for them as maintainance.

You’re meant to be on each dose for a minimum of 4 weeks.
