Anything wrong with this job application?

So come on, Spie. What do you feel is wrong with that job application?

The suspense is killing me. :p

Now you know why I don't have much respect for university degrees when it comes to threads about how great graduates are. ;)

No doubt the applicant is wanting one of those £25k+ jobs with you before (s)he gets out of bed in the morning. :p

I think you all know what's wrong with it.

Correct punctuation is very important. Sadly, over half of all written applications received don't even use capitalisation for I. People need to understand the difference between the written word and text messages, although I always use correct punctuation for both.

If I get time I'll post one or two of the worst ones later.

I think it's an age thing - standards seemed to have dropped since I was in school (at least if the average content of GD is anything to go by).

Didn't I hear that at one stage in the 80s/90s teachers were suggesting that correct spelling was unimportant?

So, Spie, when should I come round for that interview, given my excellent application above? :p

But seriously, I can't believe people would send out an application like the example you've shown us.

Nothing like a bit of confidentiality.

I wouldn't want to work for a company whos MD makes fun of applicants on the internet anyway to be honest.

Was it your application?

Simon said:
No.

I'm not looking to argue so please don't try. Just made a perfectly valid point that it's hardly professional.
Companies release things like this all the time.

Sorry, you understood that wrong. That question was supposed to be in jest. I'll use a smiley from now on :p

I can see where you're coming from but I don't see confidentiality as an issue with this, it's impossible to know who it was.

If I had written this application and saw this thread, yes I'd be embarrassed at first but then I'd realise I'd better buck up my ideas if I want to get taken seriously. :)
