Anything wrong with this job application?

In my opinion he knows how to spell, and can write a properly framed covering email. He may not have a CV but could look up a template and type something up in a matter of a couple of hours.

He just wasn't bothered, or felt the job wasn't worth the effort - what kind of attitude is that to take when asking someone to employ you?

Whether it's an application for a shelf stacker in Tesco or project manager at IBM you should always make the effort. If you don't somebody else will.

He isn't very specific. Mainly in leaving it in your hands to decide which position he is best for.

Also these are full-time positions and he states he is a student - is he looking for a Summer job or what?

As others have already pointed out, there are dozens of things wrong with this application.
 
As has been pointed out, the grammar and spelling is awful. Not the worst I've seen, but still not good enough in my opinion. The style of writing is simply too colloquial for the purpose of which it has been written, also.

The information is good, yet very scarce.

If this is, as you say, one of the better emails you get, it might be worth emailing back and seeing if he makes more of an effort in his reply.
 
Sounds desperate for any old jobs going at OcUK, lacks basic English grammar and spelling skills.

Here is my reworking of the original letter :o:
To Whom It May Concern,

Currently, I am a student at [city] University studying for Digital Film and 3D Animation. I currently live on [city] campus, however I would have no issues commuting to work, to join your team.

I am sending this correspondence as I feel well suited for several vacancies advertised on your website. I feel I have a reasonable knowledge of building and repairing computers, and can recognise relevant hardware and particular software faults within Windows. I have been building PCs for many years now; my first being a 386SX25 machine many years ago.

I am an outgoing good team player, and can get along with anybody should the needs arise. If you wanted me to work unsupervised, this would not be a problem for me. I have plenty of customer experience and, having worked in the Retail sector for some time, have high standards of customer service,

I apply for the Tec-001, Sal-001 and War-001 vacancies, in this email, as I feel three mails from the same person would be unnecessary.

Should you wish to contact me, or have any questions that need answering by myself, please do not hesitate to use the given telephone number. I eagerly await a response.

Because they didn't bother to read the forum and realise that you actually gave a damn about the company? Otherwise what Kitten said, that is a truly terribly written letter.
 
How does a 26 year old university student have time to do a full time job? I knew standards had dropped in education but still........
