Aorus/Gigabyte X570 - Buildzoid Ripple tests with AORUS & ASUS

awww...hope she gets well soon.

ps: don't strangle the kids. #protip ;D

Hehe - Orbi, strikes me as someone that reads the 'quick setup guide' and then wings it - he may be in for a rude awakening.

Projectile vomiting, filicide and reminder not to strangle kids? Yep, we're erring on the side of xtreme.

Thanks both. Like first to Pregnancies, suffers fro. Low iron levels and iron tablets/liquid react badly .
Seems to be on mend though !

upgrading from os wife 1.0 to os wife 1.1 is very risky. please read the manual first.

Has made my week !

I've been good and getting instruction manuals out for the kids now... Wife.. just drives in :'(

My wife was the same - in and out of hospital for drips - couldn't keep anything down for whole 9 months - scared the crap out of me. So, of course, she decided she wanted to do it all again 2 years later. Difficult times - but it will be worth it when you're outnumbered... :D (we're evenly matched.)

Hope things improve, bud.

You made the right call re Computex.

Mine is the same, although I have a suspicion it's deliberate so that I'll take over...

seems getting a lot better :)

though whilst she has slept and kids napping got a lot of time to game!!!!!!

and then the first for Ryzen 3000 kicked in.... 4000hz + and 4.8ghz 3700x under water is going to be hard to ignore !

Good to read, Orbi, hope she can keep her levels up. :)

Hehe - well you have to grab the opportunities when you can with kids and ready to pop wife.

/imagines Orbi, surrounded by napping kids with his keyboard and mouse balanced on his wife's bump, head phones on, trying his nth run of 'They are Billions'. :D

Yep, that is getting hard to resist - it may even break @tamzzy's resolve - even after discussing the pros and cons of waiting (we had made a reasoned conclusion but i can feel myself buckling.).

**Although, i would give the Rock Pro 4 a shot first - i could live with 4.7GHz :D

Seems that the Aorus Elite make be one of the better entry level boards, ~£175 seems a bit more expensive than I'd imagine but it is significantly better than the X570 Gaming X at the bottom of the range for ~£150 where I think ASRock will end up with the best choice (or at least so far). It's nice to know that all of them will easily run the 3950X should people want to do that. :)

Gaming X is Roughly 600amps across vCore , term wise of design, all x570 boards are stunning over x470 and make a mockery . Over z390 nice bump up.
Honestly be happy enough to run 16 core on the Gaming X (if it has the 8+4 CPU pins - seen some entry x570 just with single 8 pin. Lucky my PSU is multi rail )
Though elite would do it cleaner - but Pro with finned heatsink design would be hard to ignore

Seems lots of chatter about Asus entry boards fan exhaust location not being ideal . Bets on to see if it over heats

Will have to dig deeper into why PCIe 4.0 is more expensive , wasn't told the reason, just it's the reason why prices more then z390 .. most would assume VRM would be number one to price bump.

Will have to start digging for b550 but not a chance anyone is going to give that away bar... *Better then b450 " :(

@Plec new TAB campaign just looks too GOOD !!!

That is simply down to the chipset cost, and the board layout/design and factoring in the margin on top of the increased cost makes the prices jump.

The VRM doesn't actually add a great deal of cost since it's a small increase per component, the two biggest costs are PCB, and the chipset from AMD.

I suspect there may be a bit of trying to make some money whilst Intel sales are low and and limited competition. Seems AMD have replaced Intel temporarily for the motherboard vendors as their perceived (going forwards) best seller.

I think way back when, before ryzen. Gigabyte was AMD biggest buyer/seller of boards for AM/FM socket boards.
Something like 80% .. looks like they are wanting to retake it back with the above line up and strong z390

Well if the Master can make it to £300 or a touch under I think I'd give it a go.

Lol GN says xtreme might be actually $100 more  so....$700
Taken from the Ryzen CPU thread, look at that price of the gigabyte Extreme :p :D

A Danish retailer has the Ryzen 3000 and Boards up for pre order

Here are their prices

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3400G – $210
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 – $275
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600X – $345
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3700X – $450
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3800X – $550
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3900X – $690

  • GIGABYTE X570 AORUS XTREME – $1110

I don't think those are official, so they just released made up prices to promote themselves  (added extra, so they won't loose anything but some impatient folks with money have option to click preorder )

Yeah probably true.

I thought the Godlike board was the very best you could buy but it seems the Xtreme is even more hardcore.

I thought everyone knew the gigabyte Extreme was 700 dollars/pounds

Add 15% on to these ROUGHLY ! Strength of the pound to dollar or lack of, distributor/direct buy and amount of stock or stock selling out could raise it most likely...

** actually, even on sale OCUK are more expensive then others so will just use that as base guide

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,698.15 (includes shipping: £15.30)

Xtreme - £575
Master - £305
Ultra - £276
Pro Wifi - £ 225
Pro - £207
Elite - £195
Gaming X -£152

@tamzzy massive shot in the dark here for you but adding 15% and then some is £195 but can see it being just a bit more then the Pro wifi

Still dont believe this to much

https://www.komplett.dk/compare?id=1132691&id=1132688&id=1132690&id=1132689

thats a 60% more up on Xtreme and 65% on the Pro !!!

Looking at the design of the board, is there some reason why they can't put the 8 pin CPU power next to the 24 pin power?

Is it just to save materials by not having it on the side rather than the top?
