Aorus/Gigabyte X570 - Buildzoid Ripple tests with AORUS & ASUS

Looking at the design of the board, is there some reason why they can't put the 8 pin CPU power next to the 24 pin power?

Is it just to save materials by not having it on the side rather than the top?

prob a smart design having it closer to the mosfet/cpu socket

other models webpage is now up and running!

changed mind on Pro- actually looks good.

guessing for me would be Gaming X for Budget. Pro for mid range and Master for high end .

fingers crossed !

8 pin only is a shame, dont think that would handle 16 core being pushed to its absolute limit if current 16 core thread ripper at 4.2ghz all cores hits 320 odd watts .
seeing as getting 5ghz takes 1.6v across the VCore with LN2
Yeah my budget is
£450-500 3900x
£200-225 aorus itx
£150-175 32gb 3600 MHz ram

But tbh I'm tempted to wait it out until b550 hits...

going pcie 3.0 would make scene as other sites have listed and asmedia dont have their controller yet, but would like to personally see them with pcie 4.0. even if it was x8 for GPU and single m.2 to keep costs down.
also have a feeling PCB layers will be lower at 6 rather then x570 8 Layers allowing some high ram speeds.

and least ITX board designs have been done ! can just change for cheaper or less VRMs like Aorus did from z390 and b450 itx boards as designed at the same time

32gb of 3600hz ... 2 sticks... can only find trident g-skill at £250-300. Team group doing 4000hz 16gb for £150 on here :D
though seen corsair 3200 hz 32gb is around £150 :D

been eyeing up Lian Li's Q39- not as well known as more expensive glassed and sfx sibling Q37 . wondering if vertical mount could be done , side air intakes added like Dynamic and front opened up like the air...

@orbitalwalsh I think b550 will have pcie4 to the 16x slot as that's provided by the CPU. Then a pcie4 x4 to the first m.2 slot also provided by the cpu. And a pcie x4 to the asmedia chipset which will then run everything else at pcie3 speeds.

For the ram, can get the micron e-die 3200 for 160 and then overclock it

I was aiming for the Master but now thinking the Pro WiFi will be enough for me. Can't see much difference apart from one less M2, slightly lower spec VRM and 2.5Gbit LAN. Also missing the "ESS 9118 SABRE DAC" but to be fair the audio still looks high spec on the Pro. VRM's should still have plenty of power for 3900x with a modest overclock.

Fingers crossed. Though have a feeling it'll be end of Q4 . Not in any rush really . Looking forward to seeing them !

Expecting to see least 8 phases on them hopefully . 4+3 set up on controller with xxtra SoC compared to X570. Though No idea why Godlike would have 4 phases on it, not like anyone will run a 3200g on a £500+ board lol

Pro should be able to handle 16 core to be honest do to 8+4 CPU plugs . Both have same PCB layers so ram speeds should be roughly the same

Nice to see them step up to full IR units with Pro and Ultra boards , though nothing at all to differ Pro and Ultra boards from each other :(

Dont want to upset anyone, but I just saw a potential price list for the xtreme version, 1104.60 euro's, not sure if its fake or not, guess we wont know for another 2 and a half weeks.

I did some comparisons on that site.

Vs current mid to high end Z390 and AM4 the conversion was around 1.3 Eur to £

Still ouch

*Face palm * at 1.5mm thick pads... Only needs to be 5mm . Got some lovely alphacool 17 W/mk pads to replace them with .
Are you venturing down the master route or sticking (forced by wife - no argument you can win against the about to birth card :)) with ITX Pro?

Aorus 7 heatsink actually gets hot tlwith them on :D
At 0.5mm the i Pro heatsink in your new hotbox (decided on case yet?) may be appreciably hotter - as you won't have your usual 40 plus fans cycling torrents of air through your system :D

Nice sabotaging of excellent VRM cooling with that plastic marketing excrement...
If cooling/VRM is overkill - shouldn't be an issue like x370s so no need to contemplate removal - was relatively simple with a friends x370 when he upgraded. I would rather see the exposed heatsink's fins, fully. They should showcase the hardware rather than cover it up with plastic and lights - or at least have a barebones/minimal release for us boring types.

Must be why there's that big heatsink slab on back side.
Assuming it's not another plastic garbage for fooling people...
It looks metal and assumed like you it has a purpose - would seem excessive to impair board performance with yet more plastic veneer on one of their top tier boards. But looking again, under zoom, i'm not sure...

@orbitalwalsh - did any of your colleagues get a good view/opinion at Computex?

The plastic cover over the heatsinks ?

Personally spoils the look of the finned heatsink IMO , but I'm guessing it's either for style or to help channel flow over the fins... Only problem is everyone runs Asstek CLC and not very directed airflow over the VRM :(

Surprisingly , like the Z390 master. It's a foooking heavy board ! Even more so now and stops and flexing .

No doubles on the back to cool but there are pads to help the heat off the back of the IR units .

And it's ALL metal ... Just a shame no cases have big cut outs to show it off lol

I do hope they can come off though, Aorus 7 x470 fins are stunning to look at, by exhaust top fans sit just behind it , puff some smoke in and see it pass through them haha

@Plec only managed to grab a few quick ones , everyone had meetings, and few friends didn't go over this year, corsAir sent everyone bar a few and they were the unlucky ones lol

And Plec, believe like z390, can run 3800 and 3900 naked without the heatsink - though no AVX loads !
