Aorus/Gigabyte X570 - Buildzoid Ripple tests with AORUS & ASUS

If cooling/VRM is overkill - shouldn't be an issue like x370s so no need to contemplate removal - was relatively simple with a friends x370 when he upgraded. I would rather see the exposed heatsink's fins, fully. They should showcase the hardware rather than cover it up with plastic and lights - or at least have a barebones/minimal release for us boring types.
Price would be also certainly decent amount cheaper without all the garbage.
Those fins alone should give very good cooling and there shouldn't be need for that backside cooling plate.

Someone should really take proper grip from ties of marketroids and explain to them in best R. Lee Ermey style that from that point on they're not allowed to do anything, including breathing, thinking or opening their mouth without permission.

LOL - i pretty much imagine you as the Finnish equivalent of him when reading your posts about INTEL :D

Yay, finally Gigabyte got BIOS flashing without CPU.
Yep, @GIGA-Man will be pleased too - he won't get alerted so much with requests.

But once again you need to remove that plastic garbage to make justice for VRM cooling.
Yes, FFS that looks awful (design and look) - especially for me with brick coolers that expel out the back. I could expel out the top but would negate some of the silent properties of my case. If i do buy the Pro it will be the first thing l look into - but not attempt immediately.

I mean, who doesn't like chopping about their expensive motherboard and risking their warranty - i'll wait and observe, as from Orbi's evaluation it won't be required.

EDIT: Hope the YouTube clips don't get pulled before Orbi's had chance to view them.

@orbitalwalsh - links may get pulled, as they're pushing their luck with NDA.

Think I've decided on a 3800X/Master combo. Hopefully, it will come in at under £800.
Should make it under the wire if 'predicted' prices of Master prove correct.

You're certainly going all out - the Master looks a quality designed/equipped board, you should have no issues getting your 3600 sticks to optimal 3733MHz.

I’ve got 3200 sticks.
Ah, the Samsung b-die predator kit? (CPU forum discussion)

From reviews/forum clocks you shouldn't have any overclocking issues - good choice.

8 Cores is my limit/need - undecided whether 3700X or 3800X - like the idea of chancing the 3700X with clocks.

Yep, that’s the one. Apparently they’re a piece of cake to hit 3600 with, so a bit of tweaking and I could hit 3733. Interested to see what I can get the CPU up to as well.

Already had it on Z chips... But yeah about time Ryzen had it.
Still amazed they are the only ones with dual bios chips...
And they are still the only ones Who's bios chips can be removed without soldering and swapped out :)

And again backplate is primarily to stop warping , easily look at 50% for first builds with air coolers and see that they have slightly warped the board through big air coolers or over tightening .

If you ever get to pick up the Xtreme , you see why it needs it , even with 8 layer PCB, master has 6 layers but heavy heavy heatsink

@Plec should be fine, since board were on full show at Computex :)

Friend just went and got Aorus x470 Gaming 7 ... Saw the charts here, asked roughly the price of the new ones, eyes up the x470 board and got it . Considering I had 3700hz running on mine he's happy to go for it... Though flashing the board will be a bit of a pain

Looks that way - it was when he powered the demo mode, showing RGB - but suspect this pleased both parties.

Master looks very nice - the board i'm considering not so much and loving the exposed thermal pads look under sinks :D (i know, will be tidied on release).

Looked at same board - was hoping it would drop below £200 but with the increased interest in x470s, for reasons above, doubtful. Will this not be in the ballpark of the Pro at that price (~£220)?

doubtful ! like everything else made in china, time is money and pads are a bit on the thick side so will spill a little when pressure is put down on it :( but you shouldnt see them when the board is in the case.

prod stick at £200 and then run out of stock- thats the key for resellers. while they could inflate it, it might not clear stock nor have a lot of rebate back . If going x470 Aorus 7 over X570 Pro meant you could get 12 cores ryzen over 8 core, then i'd do that happily and get Gigabyte to flash the thing!

taking roughly 15% increase over z390 pricing , £220 seems likely but doesn't factor Pound to dollar prices or what resellers will list them as

think I might pass on my Aorus 7 to my brother and get him to slap in a 3600x in it

That feature will be on all the AORUS X570 boards. X470 though will still need to be flashed before 3000 CPU works however, we will manage this like normal.

:/

Surprised if they don't tidy spillage - only requires a stencil cut once specific shape has been worked out (but appreciate would add additional time for placement). Especially on top tier boards...

Don't tell @tamzzy - he's already stressed about paint matching - poor sod had an idiot use the side of his car as a parking guide and the damage may eat into his Zen budget :(. If he see's the thermal pad spillage it may finish him off...

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! i think the ITX version is 100% hidden as there is no space to see anything lol

@Plec lol. Not interested in the ATX sized boards :P

I'll just have to work extra shifts to pay off the paint job on the car. :(

Still intending to get the 3900x - pending reviews
