Well,

I went back to over lockers and asked them...

They said it's not down to them as its last the 28days, marvellous.

It could be as simple as removing the battery but it enclosed in the case and this isn't possible without breaking a seal on the screws, so I'm worried about ruining my warranty!

Anyway OC gave me a number for Aorus which is the same as in the warranty booklet and website.

Number does not work and neither did another on the site.

So I have filled an online form in waiting for the reaponse.
Not the happiest of people right now as it could be a simple fix that could take 2-3week. Wonder why I bothered.


so latest update is

Laptop defiantly boots because if i turn laptop on and wait and then predict when it is on login screen and type my password and click enter. The laptop makes the Login chime and it goes to work all except the screen but i presume that it is still a "sleep" issue because an external monitor also is blank.

Yes they are printed on the Warranty card, and also the lads in OC support dont seem to up to date as they wrote down the 01952 number.

Will give the Guys at MendIT a ring in the morning and thanks for the response

Hello there

We cover the DOA period of 28 days on the laptop units so for any issue or fault we test them and if faulty get them replaced.

If they are over 28 days old the unit is not classed as DOA so MendIT (Aorus Official Repair Centre) then cover the warranty claim and as Atom has provided the contact details they will be able to sort the unit for you.

Yeah Atom gave me the right number... Just saying the number i had originally from the support guys at your place was the wrong one so you may need to update that (must have been an old number) .

Afternoon all, hope you are all enjoying your Aorus'!

I purchased the X7 Pro-Sync on Friday and I can't wait to try it out. Judging from all the discussions on this forum, I can see customer service from Gigabyte is top notch which gives me peace of mind.

Anything I need to know in prep for receiving it?

I saw this post which looks interesting - Customising the touch pad to add texture to the buttons.

Windows update error

I set my Aorus X5 to update to update windows 10 when available.

Recently I checked it and it said downloading and I could check the progress. This took me to the windows update screen.

I had to check for updates and when I did I got the below screen:

Any suggestions?
 
Hi - first time poster and proud owner of an Aorus x3 v2.

Everything is great about the laptop but I have one small thing which is bugging me. When I right click on an of my taskbar shortcuts, the menu has a dark blue (navy) background, which makes it impossible to read any of the items.

I have attached a screenshot to show you. I have not changed any settings and I've tried various things to fix this.

Any thoughts?

After checking with HQ's engineer and looking at the error code 80244019, the potential problem could be that your X5 has got some virus :(

When a virus infects a computer, it often blocks the computer's ability to run antivirus programs, or causes those programs to be ineffective. Follow these steps to check and clear any viruses:
1. Restart your computer in safe mode. See Start your computer in safe mode for more information.
2. Scan your computer for viruses.
3. Once you've scanned and removed any viruses, restart your computer and try Windows Update again.

It seems there are quite a few people have the same issue (not with AORUS though :) )

Perhaps try to uninstall the update name KB3072318, and reboot the laptop, this would probably solve your problem.

Did a virus check in safe mode and only found 24 tracking items and no virus's, using Norton.


I followed the rest of the guide until I came to this point:

In the Services window, double-click Software Licensing.

I couldn't see Software Licensing within services, but there was Software Protection which was not running. Would this be the same?

I gave it a go and started the service, but windows update comes up with the same error.

Solved my issue. :D

Did the following:


Uninstalled the last windows update. (Top answer)

(Was clutching at straws there)



This then resulted in a new windows error:

A google search on the new error found this site:

Followed the instructions exactly and it worked. Lots of darn advertising popups / overlays on it though.


Now windows update is saying:

Up to 28% now as I type this. :cool:



Did a malware scan and found nothing too. Yay

Edit: on shutdown the laptop installed 22 updates. :)

Edit: Bleh download restarted at 0% when I restarted my laptop this morning. :(

Just ordered it via OCUK so will find out soon enough!

current stock is shipping with Win8.1, this is detailed in the specification listed on OcUK web-site.

The machines all qualify for free upgrade to Win10, and this can be done up until 29th July 2016....

So, it arrived today!

Build quality looks great, the metal bodywork makes feel sturdy and worth the £2k paid. However, upon turning it on, the system is set to Korean (I think) so I can't read any of the menus! I've spoken to OCUK support who have talked me through resetting the PC (currently 2%) and will report back once that is done.

Has anyone else had to do this? The seal on my box was not broken and it came with a UK plug, so don't think it could have been mixed up with a far eastern model..?

Strange, please keep us updated. Not had this before, and if unit has UK keyboard and power supply it must be a mistake at factory. We will report this back to HQ and if unable to sort easily we will advise OcUK to swap the unit for you.

Hi there, I am interested in buying the latest aorus x3 plus model. Most carriers at the moment show the x3 plus v3 model as discontinued. Any idea if and when the new model will be available?
