I have bought the Aours X3 from another reseller back around 7th December and went through 3 Laptops as each had issues. First laptop had a loose screw that wasnt fully screwed in from the factory so it was making a horrible creaking noise. Second one had the A key falling off and both had the CMOS battery banging against the cover. The third one has a dead screen. It doesnt come on whatsoever. Tried plugging an external monitor and the monitor works but not the laptop screen. At this point I am pretty fed up with these relatively minor issues. I know they can be sorted out easily but after almost a month I still dont have a working laptop. I am waiting for a refund as a replacement is no longer an option as I am away next week. I think Aorus may need to check their QC at their factory for X3. Dont get me wrong I love the metal finish but these problems has wasted me a lot of time.

Finally got my x5 v7 back with new DE keyboard layout! (much closer to Swiss one...)

I didn't bother insisting to change the faulty killer AC as I had an Intel 8260 spare but even after swapping, it still seems to struggle... Could I have forgotten something besides the 2 drivers and swapping both antennas...? (I uninstalled the killer suite but maybe some drivers are still making trouble...? )

BTW I got myself an Oggio renegade backpack for the x5. It fits by the millimeter. (no need for sleeve with it)

Also, did anyone managed to get all FN+# keys working? Not sure if it's the DE keyboard but it seems only SLEEP & VOL adjustment is working...

Brightness adjustment, disable wifi, etc. Don't respond...

Could it be a driver issue or did anyone manage to remap the FN combination keys?

@Atom80,
I have yet to hear from any Aorus support.
I am still having the issue where the laptop will refuse to power on properly on some occasions.

I have posted my email ([email protected]) couple times now and haven't gotten response to start the dialog of getting my laptop fixed.

Hi - we have just emailed to USA colleague directly, with you on cc. Hope this helps get you the support you need locally in USA.

Thanks and sorry for delay.

I was thinking of buying an X5 MD the other day and just noticed that they've now vanished from the OCUK shop - is this just in the meantime until new stock comes in or have they been removed for another reason?

I would also love to know if the Eagle on the track-pad is permanently painted/vinyl or if it's LED and can be removed/dimmed off? Really love the specs of this laptop and would otherwise have bought it the minute I saw it but can't get over the Eagle :/ not for me unfortunately and just really ruins the looks IMO - might be better in person I guess but hard pushed to find anything else as good that I like in a similar form factor!

Good spot. That's annoying. For me it was the x5 or asus zephyrus. Was swaying toward the x5 as the asus only has fhd screen. Let's see if there is any news on the x5 tomorrow.

I had an X5 MD for a while and the eagle is either permanently part of, or somehow embedded in / underneath, the trackpad; it's not lit up but it cannot be removed or dimmed. I have poor colour vision but to me it appeared blueish and quite noticeable. I now have an X7 DT V7 and the eagle appears orangeish and much less noticeable... but it's always there.

FWIW if you have more realistic expectations than I did / was led to have about the X5 MD's performance (think lowish 1070 scores at best) and the fact that it's married to a 4K panel it can't really drive at native res - then it's a great machine. Especially as a mobile workstation or content creation platform. Personally I'm happier (though see my next post shortly) with getting everything I wanted in the X7, just living with the fact it's (relatively) enormous and heavy.

I've started occasionally having a blank screen on cold boot on my X7 DT V7 (QHD). The keyboard lights up (and my rgb profile is loaded) but the screen remains blank and no keys are responsive. No signal to external monitor either. Holding down the power button and releasing a few times eventually makes it come back to life.

Curiously, sometimes after this happens I will see, very briefly, an Aorus-branded app flash on the screen saying "No display again?" with yes / no buttons underneath. There is a countdown from 5, but it seems faster than 5 seconds, and clicking yes does nothing.

@Atom80 could you advise please? Very curious about the popup! And obviously would rather know that this machine isn't going to let me down, because it's both my source of income and recreation :-)

Hi,

So i've had this problem for a few months, hoped it would go away. But it also took me ages to pin down the issue before i could post here.

I've noticed that 1111111111111111111111 keeps happening when im trying to type/login to things. It seems specifically related to the number pad. If i rest my palm to close (sorta under the arrow keys) it starts kicking off and being quite annoying. I have to gently tap the chassis under the arrow keys/numpad to get it to stop.

Its like recognising a press when it shouldn't? they key itself is fine, not pressed or uneven that i can tell.

What are my options?

(X7 v7-CF2)

Hello all :)
I've been following this topic for a while as I am interested in getting the Aorus X7 DT v7-cf2. Any opinion, good or bad, about the machine in general? I've noticed that as of today there is still 1 in stock. Any chance more will be coming back? :)
Thank you
