Drop enough times and YOU'RE the enemy with gold armour ;)

well yeah, 4 squads drop at 0s and can't take the same space up, so they stack.
I find a lot of the time you're quicker waiting till 1-2s and dropping, you don't bump people and hit the ground sooner

good point and I also know that crashing into the wall in artillery helps you drop faster

Whats all of your favourite play styles? I see quite a difference between the people on discord.

Slow and steady - take your time, wait for the right moment - snipe/fire from afar before engaging?
Medium paced - a bit of sniping, with some close up action when needed
Fast paced - arc star out, get in their faces, hit your shots.
Just don't give a **** - drop solo and take 'em all on

I'm probably in the Fast paced category, if i had to put myself into that category. I am aware of my teams abilities and pace as well though. I feel a bit lost if I'm in a team who likes to play Slow/Medium paced. I loot fast, I know what I want to use and move on.
I find if I'm playing with the slower typed people, I tend to be running off to new unlooted zones before anyone else, which may seem a little hasty, but is it worth the risk? I'd say yes.

Reason being: I'm looting faster, which means I get through more items, which in turn means I'm going to be getting higher gear items than my team mates most of the times, dependant on RNG though. Higher loot = harder to take down and you'll win more fights. If the whole team is doing this, then that's perfect, we can loot and move on very quickly, meaning our team should have better gear than a team we meet next.

If there's any tips for anyone here. Make a list of weapons that are your "Top 2", pick up only those items (ping any purples you don't need) - you quickly learn which attachments work with them and only pick those up, you'll be clearing more buildings in no time, coming out in a much better situation. Compare that against where you'd be, if you were switching up your builds constantly and being indecisive on what to use and doing this slowly. If you stick to your "Top 2", you learn the recoil and what that gun is capable of quicker and at which ranges, you'll start hitting more shots and your damage values will start going upwards. With more damage, comes more responsib...... :) (and more wins)

ps. If an Arc Star was a weapon, it'd be top of my list, I had 9 of them in the last game I played, all gone by the end.

whats the trick with this game? firing from hip, down sights?

I love the r301 and r99, I aim down sights, laser a guy, need to reload..

meanwhile his wingman has wrecked me and im dead, this usually happens on 1 v 1

whats the general consensus on moving, strafing side to side doesn't seem fast enough? fast slide to the left or right? jump?

I aim down sights for things further away than 5-10m, any closer and its mostly hip firing, which is pretty accurate.
For dodging shots, strangely enough, you move pretty quick just stepping left and right while in a battle, most streamers i watch tend to do this, but takes some doing trying to hold it together under the pressure..

I find its often the 2nd burst of shots that does for me. We'll both unload a magazine into each other, start reloading or switching weapon, and they'll often just be that little better at getting the next set of shots on target.

Spitfire and R301 are my general go to weapons.

I still think they need to do something with the sniper rifles.....G7 is utterly pointless weapon - even 3 or 4 hits with it and people just hide away and shield up/heal up. Even longbow with skull piercer doesn't do much at distance as people can heal up easy.

I think its max 100 headshot? which is insane, it should knock someone

Go onto the test range and hip fire/ADS with all the weapons. The CQB weapons, in general, are really accurate with hip fire. The assault rifles not as good. Movement A-D is faster with hip fire, making you harder to hit. Crouching/sliding has the advantage of reduced spray radius as you'd expect, plus you'd be amazed how many players ignore you when you are crouched/sliding.

Learn to put your weapon away when you don't need it, even during combat to move quicker. Learn not to be predictable with your A-D movements and not to jump too much unless you are passing an opponent with a slide or can change direction mid-air. Jumping players are some of the easiest to hit.

Headshots really make a difference as to how quickly you can take a player down so laser that aim. Always, always switch weapons rather than reload if you can. After an engagement, check both are reloaded, then heal, then loot.
If you are carrying a sniper, it should be your first weapon of choice, with the 2nd weapon as your finisher. Don't miss that first shot though unless you have a teammate backing you up. You'll need to reload your 2nd otherwise which makes you vulnerable.

Practice sliding and aiming during movement using the corners of walls and teammates as fake targets. It'll get you used to the mechanics of doing it in battle. Don't turn 180 and run if you are getting low, rather turn 90 and take cover or slide at an angle. Always use elevation to your advantage, when surprising an enemy or when escaping to reset. Never re-peek the same angle if at all possible. And definitely not while ADS. Heavy ammo hits have aim punch which can help, but not if there are 2 enemies targetting you. Dip and reset with your teammates. If your teammates don't back you up, then try backing them up instead. 2v1 is always better than 1v1 or 1v2.

Bhop is a good evasion technique to learn in this game although many hate it. Watch the really good players use it well.

Scout is actually a fantastic weapon, but not for sniping. The damage is too low for what I consider conventional sniping - long distance, slow shooting, heavy damage weapon.

In fact the only sniper that is remotely useful is the kraber and still people normally dont take it and rightly so, the rate of fire is way too slow for this fast paced mostly close to medium range firefighting game.

Scout has quick rate of fire and that is the key to this weapon. It aboslutely melts people at medium range, especially if you have a 4x-8x on it as it makes aiming very easy. Although I found x2 works quite well too.

For me the most optimal gun pairing right now seems to be:

*Wingman* / r99 - close range (although wingman really works at any range)
*Scout* / 301 - Medium range

I am aboslutely loving the scout since I learnt how to rapidly fire it. Just spam it as if it's an auto gun.

I've seen dizzy used the bhop but only when healing. is it difficult to do? I read you have to bind crouch or slide to a secondary mouse button?

found this :D

I love the scout but only use it at close to medium range, snipping isn't great.
Same with the triple take, Use it like a shot gun with no scope and it wrecks at close range.

Anyone playing today? I will be about and streaming most of the afternoon if anyone wants to team up. I tend to go to any fights I hear as long as I have the gear to back it up.

won 3 in a row today, then came up with a squad, well words can't describe

do people not know when to disengage in this game? we landed at airbase, we beat first squad, we had low ammo, then we beat stragglers from second squad, so I said lets bail out using zipline to outer city

third squad rolls up on us coming from bunker, and they ran towards them to fight

now I had 20 ammo left in my r99, they couldn't of had much more, enemies came from high loot areas, obviously well stacked

why fight? at least back off and resupply, the mind boggles really

overall though this game is one of the best I have played, and it's free! its stopped me playing fifa 19
