Apparently locking someone in a cage and setting it on fire is "just banter"

At one place I worked at the guys down in warehouse were well known for their tricks and tomfoolery. One lad was locked inside a wooden crate and just left there amongst a few other crates whilst everyone just went for dinner. Shame the forklift driver who loaded the crate onto the waiting artic wasn't in on the prank. :D

I guess it's one thing not being directly responsible for his death. But what's been described is surely at least assault. There should be protections on the back of this.

Surprised at some of the posts here...sounds like a lot of the "banter" some people here were subjected to...uhmm not banter thats bullying. Just because its the done thing and always been done to apprentices doesn't mean its not bullying.

Exactly, banter is taking the **** out of a mate/colleague for something stupid they did, or a new haircut etc. when they know you're not being serious & they're happy to give back as good as they get. Constant victimisation of someone, threatening their life, and causing physical harm is not banter.

Beating someone up, humiliating and torturing them does not suddenly become ok just because you happen to work with them!

I know of two cancelled orders at the dealership now, one an R8 with a lot of options. I wonder how much this has affected sales.
