Which all new phones are. It's not until a few months after that the price becomes free.

I always thought the phones were usually free on an expensive monthly contract.

On PAYG they'd be $600 yes, but not contract, which means this must be like $1000 on PAYG :D

And is the capacity only 8GB, that's hardly going to replace the iPod?
It's perfect for me - although my music library is huge, I don't really need it all on me. 8Gb is more than enough for the stuff I listen to 95% of the time :)

=

I got a Lgk920 when it first came out even on an expensive tarrif it was over £250.

Managed to get it free by getting a reconditioned one. Most top end hones are expensive even on high tarrifs.

ZOMG! Must have one!!!one!!!one!!!1!11!

Seriously, I tried to give up being a gadget freak but I'm definitely getting one of these babies.

Although this looks awesome....

5 hours battery life using apps, 16 audio, and these are the manufactures specs as well, so probably in optimised conditions.

Although this is great for PDA type device, as a phone, it is going to be a bit of a pain if it needs charging at least once a day.

It might be supplied with 2 battery as standard, with 2 chargers. One for the phone and one for the spare battery.

I'd be suprised if this has a user replaceable battery like mobile phones have, going by the ipod.

Nice device, but i'd rather have a widescreen ipod with 100gb and wireless sync.

Usually ipod products are over priced and not as good as rivals.

The ipod was miles ahead of everything when it was first released.
Use a powerbook and you know you've it's something quality.

Etc.

This is an absolutely killer wireless device, though. The wireless functionality and software (Widgets just like OS X, Safari web browsing, beautiful contact list system, conversation-style SMS messages, photo viewer, video viewing, iPod-like music playing interface) combined with the 4/8GB hard drive makes it the best companion you could possibly imagine if you're on the move. Plus it's 11.6mm thin, has three proximity detectors, an ambient light sensor, a huge touch-screen with unbelievablely smooth multitouch functionality...

It's not a replacement for the iPod, it's a separate device which puts the iPod to shame and does so in style :)
