*** Apple event 10th November @ 6pm - One More Thing: Apple Silicon Macs Reveal ***

I'm buying immediately. My late 2012 MBP has done me great service but I need a refresh. If its has 1st gen problems.... I am trusting Apple to do the right thing.
That’s brave after the whole keyboard thing! But at least they’ve fixed that now, so probably nothing else which would cause that kind of divide this time round. We hope!

Ooooo I’m excited again :D Looking forward to these new Macs and processors - But also keeping my fingers crossed that we see something regarding iPads, or AirPods/headphones.

Think this will probably just been the ARM macs and nothing else apart from Big Sur.

Name of the chip is M1, interesting they moved away from the A series of naming!

Not a bad way to go with Marketing, as a lot of people who don't necessarily understand technology would think that the iPhone chip would be the same as the Macbook chip.

M1 - 4 high performance cores and 4 efficiency cores... I was expecting more tbh, this is just an A14x rebranded

Except the M1 is just an A14x with a couple extra features

The fascinating thing will be whether they just make super slim macbooks or give us insane battery life.

I’m not sure they need to make the MacBooks any skinnier to be honest - Surely then it starts risking being far too fragile.

But it would be an Apple thing to do :p

They seem to be comparing to the low powered macbook air currently....

Thats what im thinking. But I suspect this chip is just for the macbook air as well, not the macbook pro's

Yeah if they're just showing this chip only then it's just the lowest grunt Macs we'll see in a sec and the MBP... tick tock. Then again, depends how much grunt one actually needs as to whether waiting is necessary (although I do like a big screen!)

Were people expecting every product to get Silicon straight away? They've said they want to transition over the next few years. Makes sense to do low-powered first.

But the rumours were that the macbook pro's are also being shown here, 13 and 16 inch variants
