Back to the longer format of previous models but with a bigger portrait screem. (Hence the accelerometer) Improved size, 8gb and 16gb, at cheaper prices and a slightly more advanced UI.

So this should result in a glut of 3rd gen nanos, assumingly cheaper too

Probably depends on the store.

Most should have them out instantly (there's no reason why they shouldn't) but I'd say they clear the existing stock out before adding the new ones. The majority of high street customers won't know there is a newer version.

Maybe for delivery, but certainly not for store pickup.

Why? The vast majority of mac and ipod owners have absolutely no clue who he is, it's only the internet nerds (not saying this in an offensive way, I'm one of them ) who know him by name.
