apple store down!

The new MB havn't got the LED screens have they?

And are the penryn processors just on the MBP's?

MacBook and MacBook Pro both have Penryn processors.

And only the MacBook Pro has LED backlit screens, although the 17" one now does which it never used to.

Shame the MacBook didn't get a resolution update - it badly needs one as mentioned.

Not amazing updates by any means but a nice little bump. :)

The Macbook should have been updated to the same sort of standard as a Dell XPS 1330, And how long will apple still be supplying a combo drive in it's base models?

I'm seriously considering giving up on my Macbook and replacing it with a 1330 as it's more advanced, cheaper and looks good to.

Don't be too disappointed with the updates to those that are. These little spec bumps for the last two updates on both products, say to me that serious cosmetic revisions will be available for late Q3 or Q4.

Your sig is two lines too large.

They're nice for anyone who's buying first time. I wouldn't sell my MacBook Pro for one though and it's a 2.16Ghz.

Good also because I'm planning to sell my MBP soon and I was praying this wouldn't knock significant value off it by being a new design.

Don't be a quim.

Updates look good, the MacBook was in desperate need of 2GB RAM out of the box. The MBP updates look good also.

I hate Apple and my less than 6 months old MacBook hates Apple too.:(

Wonder if I could give it the wife and buy myself a new MBP? If only I had the cash! :( :(

Very tempted to order a middle MBP today.

All the machines are 3 days shipping on the Apple site atm. Are we likely to see "disections" of these machines in the next few days online or should I just order now? (In case a site rips apart a machine and finds flaws, etc (although warranty and 30 day money back guarantee should cover that)).

I can't imagine much can be wrong, multi-touch is tested technology, Penryn is used elsewhere already, more RAM and bigger HDD make no difference etc.

Well I'm not regretting buying my MBP just after Macworld now.

The LED backlight for the 17" Would have been nice as would doubling the graphics card memory but I'm not too fussed about missing out on the multi-touch track pad (having played with a MBA the other day) and I don't think I'm missing out too much on not having a Penryn - Mine's still a 2.6 C2D.

The amount of time and effort I've saved and the extra productivity over this last month more than makes up for the *slightly* lower spec to be honest. I should have listened to EVH about 4 months ago and just got it back then. :p
