Apple vs Samsung, court orders Samsung to show Apple 5 new phones

Apple have published their "Samsung didn't copy us" release now.

It's not exactly friendly to the UK Judge

However, in a case tried in Germany regarding the same patent, the court found that Samsung engaged in unfair competition by copying the iPad design. A U.S. jury also found Samsung guilty of infringing on Apple's design and utility patents, awarding over one billion U.S. dollars in damages to Apple Inc. So while the U.K. court did not find Samsung guilty of infringement, other courts have recognized that in the course of creating its Galaxy tablet, Samsung willfully copied Apple's far more popular iPad.

Errr... Wasn't the Galaxy Tab found to be non-infringing in the US? ;)
Also... Talking of copying... iPad mini... Looks remarkably like the Galaxy 7.7 :D
 
Er wonder how they can get away with posting flat out lies?

The galaxy tab was found to not be infringing in the US, and the trial hasn't even taken place in Germany...
 
Didnt expect any less from Apple.

They may or may not have left themselves open to legal action though. After reading it, there is the possibility that the UK courts may hold them in contempt given the last paragraph states

which could be inferring that the UK got it wrong as other courts "recognise" that Samsung did copy...

I certainly wouldn't be happy if I was the UK judge that told them to write a statement and then Apple came back with that... Almost like a slap across the face....
 
I just laughed so much at this that I got a major coughing fit. :D

I think this Judge may be one of the few with his head screwed on correctly. *take note America...*
