Apple vs Samsung, court orders Samsung to show Apple 5 new phones

Macrumors and AppleInsider are going into a xenophobic meltdown over today's ruling:p Apparently we're some backward country with a third-world justice system that Apple should pull out of. You couldn't make some of the stuff up.

Hardly any different to lots of people in this thread with American rulings.
People are generaly one side or the other and get their nickers in the twist when they don't win. Rather than seeing it in the larger picture that both sides will both win and lose. People also foret, judges can't use "commen" sense, they have to go by the law.

Wonder what the new wording will say.

LOL @ "Clocknova"... this guy is just... wow.

Couldn't Apple just refuse? What's the worst that could happen? They'll make the UK angry? Surely they can afford to pull out of that market if it comes to that. It's a fairly small market.

No offense intended to UK customers, but a court demanding a written apology like this is just silly.

It's not like the UK can put Apple in jail. They should really give this judge the middle finger and see what happens. I predict nothing at all. Again, worst case scenario is they can no longer sell in the UK. Small country; no big loss.

I kinda predicted that Apple was going to have a bad year, they deserve it for selling the people rubbish and making them believe what they have is amazing.

*Profits expectations not being met
*Apple following the crowd like sheep with it's iPad mini
*Couldn't even make a phone that was better then the SGS3
*Taking a battering in courts outside of the US

I really hope this is the beginning of the end. They can't even improve iOS and they're stuck in the corner because Android already came up with it's natural progression. i.e it would have to copy Android mercilessly in order to improve it's iOS

The end of what? They have enough cash they could coast for years on back to back failures and it's unlikely they're going to experience anything worse than a gradual erosion of their market share in certain markets.

The posters on that apple insider board are hilarious, even the moderator claims that the court order to post the notice is "probably legally invalid". Ummm yeah, I'm sure that he knows UK law better than 4 judges :D

That place will explode if Samsung win the appeal in the US!

I think it's more that Apple have two and a half cash cows and absolutely nothing "new" in the pipework. They have almost unimaginable resources though so there is no panic but when you are market leader there isn't really another way to go but down.

If Samsung were told by a US court to do publish something and they did the same as Apple have done, the very people defending Apple on those boards would be attacking Samsung with the very arguments they are denouncing as stupid....

You can't fake stupid....

They aren't the market leader in mobile phones though by any stretch of the imagination.

They do have mountains of cash, oddly they haven't been paying any dividends to shareholders for years.

All reference and links to the judgement have been removed from Apples front page. I'd suspect they will drag their feet as long as possible (the 48 hrs) before updating the site.

Strange how quickly they can remove the judgment but they say it would take 14 days for them to put it up.
