*****APRIL SALE - 7.5% DISCOUNT ON EVERYTHING!!*1*** ----- NOW FINISHED!!

Well i placed my new custom gaming system order on here on Friday, (by the way a special thanks to 5UB for helping me out!) - i saved over £100 thanks to this code! :D

Even though the system went way over my initial budget which was planning to be 1k, adding all these little extras (monitor, keyboard, headphone, mice, better gpu etc..) increased the spendings to around 1600+. Luckily on the machine bundle from OC i save around £120 or so which brought my machine down to £1420 + accessories.

In the end i think its all worth it! This is my first PC after agessss! Im mostly a macbook user now and even before when i was using windows it was on a laptop. So its going to be a pleasant change to go back to desktop after all these years!

The only thing i wish for now was if i had a dedicated room for the PC and desk so that i could set it up with 3 monitors surrounding me. :D Unfortunately, ive been limited to having this setup in the corner of my home cinema room for now :( Ah well it will just have to do!

Had a 670GTX + water block in my basket last night. But couldn't get my free delivery with the discount applied :/
Ruined it a bit for me, so didn't bother. Shame.

The bad news is this code cannot be used in conjunction with FREE shipping, unfortunately we don't make enough margin to allow both discounts to function at same time.

Wonder why that might have been? :)

Just saying don't flog it as a ferrari when it's a nova at best.

It's called marketing. At least they didn't do like some shops recently - hike the prices for a month, then declare a mega fantastic sale by reducing prices to the same as they were before the hike.

The comment about staff discount was merely to point out that OCuk can afford to offer better discounts as per the existance of staff discount.

Where I work, staff can buy anything in stock at cost price. That doesn't mean we could afford to sell to the public at that price. We'd go under pretty damn quickly if we did. Likewise, we sometimes give stock away to get people to buy other higher-margin products.

It would be interesting to see how much the sales volume would be increased by if a nice, juicy discount of 15+% was introduced for a short period. I know that I'd be buying lots... hint hint OcUK, hint hint.

Out of interest do they have these deals on often?
I was about to pull the trigger on the £1200 P170em laptop they have a deal on at the mo. I had a question though and couldn't remember my password to log in here so waited until Monday to ask the staff thinking the deal was until the end of April! :-(
The laptop is now cheaper from a competitor but the 1120 price here (with discount) would get my notes ;)

This store-wide deal for a nice 7.5% off isn't usual and for the years I've shopped with OcUK I can't recall the last time it happened - unless it happened whilst I was abroad at some point.

Next best is checking out TWO (This Week Only) for a large selection of various randomly discounted products, then TO (Today Only) that can offers a better discount on 2 random items per weekday with limited stock at that price then it goes back to usual price.

Remember to use Quidco (now free without £5 membership payment from cashback amounts) for 3% cashback on all sales (not to be used in conjunction with non-Quidco codes) or link up your account once you've become a loyal member for free delivery.
