*****APRIL SALE - 7.5% DISCOUNT ON EVERYTHING!!*1*** ----- NOW FINISHED!!

I'm actually really interested in the whole Quidco thing as for the items I want it works out cheaper to use the Quidco 6% than the 7.5 discount + postage costs.

Is there any official word on this from OcUK?

Also, I've not done it before, but if I had a pre-order item in my basket and some items that are in-stock, do all the items get delayed until the pre-order item is shipped?

Quidco is really easy to use. But just think of it as a bonus rather than a definate discount. some cashbacks can take months before it goes through, but some just take days.

Shoulda been clearer, my question/interest was more about if the Quidco cashback works in conjunction with the 7.5% sale, rather than about Quidco in general.

It says:

"Quidco members should only use voucher codes listed on Quidco. If you use voucher codes or gift vouchers that are not listed on Quidco your cashback may not track or be declined."

So OcUK have the right to decline your cashback as you used a non-Quidco voucher code. Plus I don't think OcUK want to give everyone a 13.5% discount, however nice that would be.

To the people who say they can buy stuff from other websites cheaper and with free shipping, my advice is to buy your stuff from there :) I know the stuff I bought this weekend you can't get cheaper elsewhere, so I'm happy.

always shop around and be careful of marketing indeed

I will always check around 1st before ordering. If OCUK are dearer it won't be for long as they usually fluctuate the prices. Always good to ask for a price match also, it can do no harm, assuming you're not price matching from a website thats too cheap to be real.
I like the setup at OCUK and free postage as you can pretty much make sure someone is in to receive it, unlike some free postage that you haven't a clue when its arriving, that's no good to me.

Man some people are never happy.

The object of a business is to make a profit while pricing items so that they will also sell, generating revenue that should be higher than costs. How much profit a company makes compared to another is variable and is likely to be different as these companies may have different deals with suppliers.

They have no reason to offer a 7.5% discount yet have decided to do so. If an item is still cheaper elsewhere then buy it somewhere else.

I really don't understand posts like the below.

There is no pressure on OcUK to offer this and not everyone is a forum member, or eligible if they are, for the free postage discount.

If a competitor offers products cheaper and free shipping then it's quite simple - go and order your products there. Highlighting it on this forum isn't likelytt to have much of an effect.

All businesses wish to operate at a profit - full systems will have a markup due to build etc, all manufacturers do it - imagine the kind of profit margin someone like Dell have on a per-system rollout basis.

Finally if you wish to have staff discount prices when purchasing from OcUK, then i'm sure you can apply for whatever positions they presently have open!

Since when do companies give out staff discounts to the general public? I am sorry but what a stupid comparison. Also, the shop only deals were restricted and staff could not get them it was for customers only.

If you are not happy with the deal, we are not forcing you to buy. And if you are not happy and want to pay the higher price, feel free to not use the code.

My only complaint is that I get paid on Tuesday! I'm normally flat broke by the 26th-28th of the month. :p

Hey 5UB,

Any chance you could confirm that we can't use the 6% Quidco deal and the 7.5% sale code at the same time?
Everything that's been said here seems sensible and the 6% deal works out better for me, but I don't want to miss out on the 7.5% if we can get both.

I've been waiting almost all weekend trying to decide what to buy, now I'm stuck trying to decide which deal to use!

I doubt it will work, usually deals do not work with each other. So I would recommend using one or the other as the deal could be declined.

Ok ok own up how many of you have built yourself a system just to see how much discount you would have had, drooled for a while then woke up?
Just me then :D
