Aquiss

Would be nice if the discounts could be given to existing customers looking to jump up a tier, I would be switch to 2500 with the discounted pricing.

Some great discounts there for sure!! and I can say that Aquiss are top tier ISP wise.

Don't suppose they're as good as Aquiss, but Toob are also offering some great deals on 2.5gb £29 a Month if in City Fibre area

Just a FYI, we have updated our CityFibre pricing:

City Fibre 160
£15.00 a month for the first 3 months, then £30.00 a month thereafter (Offer equivalent to £26.25 per month)

City Fibre 1000
£17.50 a month for the first 3 months, then £35.00 a month thereafter (Offer equivalent to £30.63 per month)

City Fibre 1200
£18.50 a month for the first 3 months, then £37.00 a month thereafter (Offer equivalent to £32.38 per month)

City Fibre 2500
£24.00 a month for the first 3 months, then £48.00 a month thereafter (Offer equivalent to £42.00 per month)

That's excellent news, currently enjoying a previous offer. Very good price for a very good service.

Are you considering offering >2.5Gbps at some point?

I so wish we had City Fibre. Anyway you can check if any of them will be installing in my area soon, fed up of Openreach prices.

We are and commercials are all agreed, but we never jump the gun to release things until things are actually in place

1) NDAs are still active between all parties
2) CityFibre are presently short on available ports to service 100Gbps NNIs requests.

I'm still expecting 2026 delivery however.

I think Olilo are going to be pushing out 5Gb soonish and I think they also use veloxserv similar to Aquiss. It’s like £70 a month though so not cheap.

Only in terms of their ISP customers and the speeds they can advertise. Openreach are more than capable of making moves if they lose customers due to the products on offer (as opposed to pricing, and Ofcom won't let them get into a price war). It's easy to lose sight of what people are actually buying and their monthly budget for an internet connection, I think one of the ISPs a few years ago (might even have been Aquiss) said their most popular FTTP product was 80/20.

Not a good news from Openreach - far too slow behind!

I think Openreach are also protecting their leased line business at work we’ve just signed up for a 1000/1000 leased line and that’s the best part of £5k a year.

It seems quite common to talk about Openreach protecting leased lines but I don't think that's the case. Not only is there a lot of competition in the leased line market but they'd be relying on nobody else moving into business parks to deploy FTTP (and no businesses reluctantly paying for a leased line deciding that 1000/120 FTTP would actually be fine for them) which seems incredibly short sighted. I think it's more to do with being super conservative on PON congestion as a result of them being a heavily regulated wholesale provider, as upstream can be fully utilised 24x7 in a way that downstream can't really as you have to put the stuff you're downloading somewhere. As a reminder, CityFibre only commit to providing 35Mbps up on their gigabit product.
