What's the best route to take in the skill tree?

not doing any PVP just PVE
I like going for anything that increases your stamina. You spend a lot of time moving around after all.

Being able to craft bandages is a skill I use often (tho you could just use fabric instead).

Access to security lockers is a nice to have, but requires significant investment.

I don't think there's anything outside of increasing the use I get out of stamina that I would say is required.

But I think it's down to personal preference. And given how cheap it is to reset you can try a few builds out without penalty.

Cheers for this, ill take a look

my understanding is the best overall perk is the one when you have 37 points in the red column as that allows you to open some tasty lockers that no one else can.

other than that I don't think they make a huge difference.

Those lockers are not that tasty.

Admittedly I still think that skill is worth having but it isn't the b all and end all.

Its a good skill if your mainly pve.

The skills need looking at again though tbh they have some really naff ones.

They used to (prior to me getting the perk, naturally  ) have exceptional loot. Guaranteed epics and blueprints.

Then they were nerfed into oblivion, and all that was removed.

I'm exaggerating the oblivion part. They're still sometimes full of decent loot, but it's no longer a guaranteed blueprint from every locker. Or epic weapons. Or any weapons. Okay, it's hit and miss. But there are enough of them on the map that you'll get something.

The real benefit to them is that they are almost guaranteed to have a weapon in them, so you can run a free loadout and usually grab a decent replacement if you get a rattler. :D

That, and they're another source of loot, which is nice for those later game starts, because not everyone has the perk to access them.

Once upon a time they were absolutely a must have. Now, not even close, you can skip it without regret.

I have the perk btw, so I'm not just ******** on it to be contrary. I also ran trios plenty of times prior to the nerf and saw how it was back then when a squad mate shared out the loot.

That said, the more I've written and the more caveats I've added to defend the perk, the more I realise how much "nerfed into oblivion" actually holds true. Writing this has made me re-evalute my own perk choices. The "they are almost guaranteed to have a weapon in them" line I added made me realise how bad they've actually gotten.

The biggest problem I've got is, if I don't take this perk, what else is there? The whole perk system seems meh. Aside from stamina stuff which seems mandatory.

I put all my points into that too (security breach) but it's been rubbish, never had any worthwhile loot from those cabinets. So today I reset my skilltree and reinvested in movement, I also now have fast crawl which is very useful. The amount of times I've made a long crawl to escape has saved me a fortune in loot.

Even stuff like "vaults on vaults on vaults" which seems overpriced but decent (vaulting no longer costs stamina), is a gamble because vaulting in this game is so ass.

I've taken it, and security lockers. But once I'm at 75 I'm going to respec a few times and see what works and what doesn't.

I did watch a youtuber talking about how little the slip and slide perk made a difference (none in some cases), and I've been left wondering if some of the perks aren't working correctly at all. I've felt that way about some of them for a while, even without watching others to see it tested.

this was what I was getting at tbh. not that the security boxes seem amazing (I never tried them pre nerf) just that none of the perks in the tree seem hugely game changing and those that are are easy to get (likely deliberate to keep it fair due to the PvP)

the stamina ones maybe but they are easy to get.
I also like the quick breaching and quiet breach/looting but again they are cheap to get .

quicker crawling whilst down and longer to bleed out I expect will be nice and I am looking at those to get next.
the fact you can respect is great. it means you don't have to fully reset to try something new.

I probably will use my caravan next time but am starting to feel the shine wear off a bit now (not a complaint, I am around 150 hrs in the game owes me nothing) so I suspect I will only ever do it once so it's highly unlikely I will ever earn enough points to max all 3 trees (I think that would take 8 migrations as well as almost 40million credits assuming the price stays the same)

edit.... mind you I won't consider the game "completed" until I take down a queen / matriarch.

They really need to do something about the cheaters in this game.
I'm seeing more and more YT clips of people blatantly cheating and promoting the website of where they buy it.

After what felt like an endless drought in the search for BP's on night raids, I was finally rewarded with a Bettina BP on Blue Gate (in the confiscation room) today, in what seemed like a very quiet run. My main objective was to get the Bastion cells I needed to complete the Gear Bench upgrade, so I'd downed that (and no one else even came into the area to loot it either, which was a surprise, as they've swarmed in in the past), then tried my luck on the conf room, which had, for a change, remained unopened.

Happy now.

Well what a change! I've come back to it after a week or so off. Spent the last few days soloing, mainly blueprint hunting. What a different experience. I've turned on full @Tombstone mode. 95% of interactions have been positive and helpful, regularly coming across groups of 5-6 other solos hanging about chatting, exchanging loot and helping each other extract.
You still get the odd rat but its to be expected.

I dunno, the security breach has been amazing for solos. I've looted epic augment blueprints, deadlines and wolfpacks from the last set of lockers.
