Arc Raiders

I've had a somewhat sketchy start to this game over the last weekend.

I've had someone shout friendly, friendly, while i'm keying in for the Elevator to take me down, so i stop for them to get in, then they shoot me
While I'm in the Elevator, dying but still able to key in for the Elevator, someone shoots me

Something is drawing me into the game though.

I've had 1 friendly encounter and that's about it so far!
 
7 rounds so far this evening, only 1 person who decided to fight and what a plonker he was.

So I'm running along (with my gun in my hands as I always do - I know you run better without it in your hands but I'm an old fart with aged reactions, the time to pull out a gun can literally cost me a fight, so I always run prepared instead) , and ahead of me I see this fella, running straight toward me (guns put away), I give out a "hello raider" emote. No response. I see him from a distance pulling out a gun and hiding behind a tree directly ahead. Still no response. I mean seriously, did he think I didnt see him move behind a tree, 40m ahead of me in my direct line of sight :D , so I give out another hello , still no response. Its now abundantly clear that the fool is going to come out from behind the tree guns blazing, so I stand in the open and wait and sure enough, out he comes running at me, firing a ferro (as so many who die to my Stitcher do) , needless to say he hits me once with the ferro and I drop him immediately with my stitcher before he has a chance to fire a second shot. Idiot. The other 6 rounds so far this evening, everyone I've encountered has been friendly :)

Are quests procedurally generated or something? I've been hammering the hell out of them over the last few days but they just keep coming.

Quests or feats? The feats, in blue on the title screen, are "dailys" and are procedurally generated little tasks. The quests are the ones given by the traders.

Maaaaan, I thought I popped the "don't shoot" voice line. Next time.
 
Not sure if this has been posted - Clip of the year in game of the year. With the Shroud nod of approval. Not seen stuff like this since the very early Dayz mod days.

Quests. Done tons and they still keep coming. Wanna get them all done so I can hunt down some lootz for the work benches.

So gave it a go there.

Bloody hell I'm hopeless. I'm not entirely sure what I'm meant to be doing. First run if you will, I walked forward towards something that was 300m away. Heard someone say 'hey don't shoot' then bang shot in the back dead.

Second run, I somehow ended up not having any ammo? Anyway thought, I'll just wonder around see what I see drone follows me and kills me quickly as I couldn't out run it or hide anyplace.

Third game, I didn't have any guns or anything so had to do a random load. Got a little pistol. Landed 4 drones around me and blast the hell out of me within 20 seconds.

Closed it down. Might be going for the refund on steam. :cry::rolleyes:

You didnt happen to have the audacity to not reply did you? Apparently that's reason enough to start blasting after shouting "don't shoot". :cry:

Maybe he knew you was an old fart, hoped you was going blind and could not see him lol

You’re doing it wrong.
 
I learned today that the arc can see through smoke.

Was fighting a 3 on 3 and we were winning the other team were backing off but the whole time we were getting hounded by a rocketeer, bot teams really. Anyway, my mate gets knocked but the other team had basically retreated by then, I throw 2 smoke at my mate, run out of cover to res, completely in smoke and the rocketeer nails me with it's first shot.
