Arc Raiders

Managed to get to the Dam control tower on Night with a control room key, some door blockers, a reasonably decent weapon and no competing raiders. Thought I was doing really well only to be caught out by a turret, then ambushed by several poppers and flamers before I could reload or re-charge.
This game absolutely punishes over confidence!

Yeah I went in to dam last night very light loadout, just an anvil, looting augment shield and a couple of shield rechargers and bandages. Got really cocky and did a full loop of the map hitting the usual decent stashes/weapon crates. I think I picked up 3 anvils couple of blueprints and a bunch of other decent attachments and loot. I was well happy with myself! With over 10min to go and headed for extraction. I was at water towers, dithering between water treatment 90 sec left on it an swamp which was open to the end. In my hesitation I got spotted by a lowly old hornet whilst checking map... He had my pants down! stripped my shield and his wasp buddy came and finished me off from behind. I just got too comfortable, too confident. I got humbled by some of the easiest Arc in the game.

Patch Notes 1.4.0
Raiders!
Update 1.4.0 is now rolling out on all platforms. It may be quite a small one but the big news is that the gun quick swap exploit has been patched and we have made a very hot fix for the locked room exploits.
Make sure to restart your client to start the download.

Content and Bug Fixes

  • Exploit mitigation mechanisms have been added for all locked rooms across all maps.
  • Fixed the gun exploit that allowed you to shoot quicker than intended by swapping to a quick use item and back.
  • The exterior access to Spaceport's Control Tower locked room has been blocked off.
  • Fixed the issue that sometimes caused low resolution textures in the Main Menu.
  • Fixed players being able to push each other by jumping on each other’s backs.
  • Fixed lighting artifacts that would sometimes occur upon entering maps.
  • Raider Voice now correctly respects the selected voice option after restarting the game.

This is quite careful wording

"Exploit mitigation mechanisms have been added for all locked rooms across all maps."

I wonder if there's now a host of dangerous things that activate only if the door isn't unlocked but a Raider is inside? :D

ah ha! "we have made a very hot fix for the locked room exploits"

They took the most appropriate response to fixing this. No ban, no reprimand, just a FAAFO approach :D

I think it traces their IP to their home address and then 2 bovver boys turn up at their home and punch them in the nads for being loser cheat scum

About time they fixed the door push exploit, although I guess they have also fixed it, it is also possible to do it yourself using a noise maker attached to the side of the door in just the right specific place. Wonder if they have also patched that?

As the videos have been removed from Reddit, here's a video of the glitch fix. Awesome, this is how you deal with people using exploits in game.

This game is just getting repetitive and frustrating now solo. Thats the last 3 rounds I've failed to extract. I'm being cautious and quiet, minding my own business and not getting in anyones way.
I've also got to say. The game feels very different today. A lot more dangerous. I've died to two ******** raiders whilst carrying **** all except the mission items I'm trying to get out. Then an onslaught of wasps and hornets that somehow completely ignored cover. Three of them appeared out of thin air well within draw distance and bee lined directly for me, whats that all about...
I'm losing motivation to continue repeating the same cycle over and over solo. I think I'm just going to stop soloing altogether, its just lost all enjoyment for me. I'll continue playing Duo/Trio, however its definitely lost its shine for me playing solo.

Its so bizarre to me ! Its like you are playing a completely different game than me. Its been 4 days now since anyone shot at me in solo and I've never had drones just appear above me. Its weird how we are playing the same game on the same (I assume) servers but are having 100% completely different experiences.

Crossplay turned off? It's turned off for me and games are far more friendly.

Honestly they haven't fixed anything, it's a mitigation that sets people on fire if they enter the room using the glitch. I'm 100% glad they addressed this but it speaks volumes about their competence at actually fixing the original problem. I'd be willing to bet (figuratively, Tombstone!) that this'll end up frying legit keycard holders or something equally as dumb. I have the popcorn ready for the reddit lol.

Yeah one massive problem with sneaking which I have tried a fair bit, is that you're forced to make noise in a lot of circumstances, most notably to extract which means sneaky players are sorta forced to take hatch keys, at 9k a pop it's kind of a lot, especially considering you also lose an inventory space to the key.

*edit*

Also I'm now in the elite 1.5% of players who have dealt 50 damage to an enemy from atop a rocketeer :D :D :D

You can also craft them, if your Utility Workbench is a lvl 2 that is ? You need 1 Advanced Electrical Component and 3 Sensors (according to internet, I am not in the game for the moment) . No clue if those are expensive as well or not, all my benches is still lvl 1 ! :p

In a way, its actually quite a clever "fix", instead of fixing that one method of getting into the room falsely, only for people to find another way to falsely get into the room, this way it just detects if you are in the room falsely and fries you, irrespective of what method you use to get into the room falsely. Its sort of like there being an aimbot and you block that aimbot, only for people to use another aimbot and you fix that aimbot, only for people to use another aimbot and on it goes, with this solution it doesnt matter which aimbot you use, you get fried :)
