Arc Raiders

For people to get into this, is it needed to have at least one/two people you know who already play it? Feel like I'd be late to the scene.
I only got it a week and a half ago and playing mostly solo fine. Done a couple of nights in trios but been happy just grinding loot / upgrades etc on solo.

Near level 40 so then may try the solo Vs groups option then for a bit of PvP / tension as then hoping MMR on there doesn't affect my care bear solo queue PVE focus runs.

Currently geinding through expedition final step for "submitting items to X value" and then needed amount to secure the skill points. That should then allow me to relax and do more risky stuff with gear if I have time left. With being late to it for this window, I'm hoping there's a decent gap to Exp#3 so can muck around more next time.

I don't know anyone in game! Solo is totally playable. You also have the option to team-up with randoms which I will do for fun, and when not grinding.

Best game I have played since Fortnite battle royale came out in 2017! I would say Arc is better given the AI of the enemy, and the jeopardy with other players!

Managed to come 3rd last week with 120k, am now in Hot Shot so I think the following weeks will be a challenge to not get relegated.

Been running all trails as a duo so far. If I can maintain hotshot for the next couple of weeks, ill be happy.

Are you getting attacked much in duos these days or or they chill like solo once you get in to the good place?

for the rewards such as the skins etc is it your position at the end of the season or so you unlock them each week as you go? I would not mind getting the suit that drops at .... daredevil1 I think

end of season you have to be in Daredevil I or above to get the new skins (in 3 different colours)

I'm a committed solo player and don't think you will feel left behind whether you prefer co-op or solo. I did the expedition last time (you lose pretty much everything, skills, stash, credits etc), and I'll be doing the next one too and did no feel at much of a disadvantage.
Unless you are seriously into PvP, where good kit is somewhat paramount, you are not at much of a disadvantage as a new player - level one players and level 70 players have the same hit points and same sheild capacities for example. Beyond the stamina skills, which you can max out pretty quickly, most skills in this game are convenience skills (quieter/faster looting & breaching for example).

Generally pretty chill as we play PVE 99% of the time. You still have to watch your back as there will still be rats sneaking around, knowing you have come in with a decent loadout to complete the trails.

The greater challenge lately, has been getting into a game where there aren't any other duo's trying to do the same challenge. So you end up competing against that team for the "objective" of the trial, we usually just Xfill straight away if that happens, and try again till its just us in the lobby running the trial.

Well just over 10k on leapers and 14k on rocketeers.

I reckon I can beat the rocketeer score quite easily, leaper score might be more tricky.

Not attempted the others yet.

Thought Id offer an opposing view to everyone else.

I’m level 27, played 99% solo. I started playing with a full team but it just ended up in shootouts. That was back before they changed the lobby & matching system though.

I posted this on this thread last week. I’m at a point where I seem to be stuck in a loop. I go out and easily hold my own against the smaller arc just using upgraded ferro and stitcher weapons.
To progress I need to upgrade the rest of my benches to L3, to do this I need rocketeer and bastion parts. I am currently unequipped to take down these enemies. Even if I had the blueprints and mats to craft the weapons - which I don’t :D . I do have a few better weapons in the stash that I’ve found but I stupidly don’t take them out in case I lose them, so leave them behind and not use them anyway. Yes dumb, I know.
So I feel I need a couple of hours with a shepherd to help me over this hurdle.
I absolutely love the game, there hasn’t been a game grabbed me like this since The Division. I am now concentrating on the quests but they are slow going but I do feel I am getting somewhere. Knocked a few over last night but now have to bring back specific items from Stella which is going to be a long grind.

very similar to me, ha, also a solo player, nearly level 28, made the foolish decision to buy a hullcracker and try and take out a bastion solo, needless to say it didnt turn out a success, also doing quests and trying to build the money up, certainly didnt think i would be hooked but im loving it

Do some missions and get your levels up, you'll unlock the renegade in tian wen's shop which is great. The trigger nades are great for killing bastions too just throw a bunch on top of it them trigger them at once. Just work out a loadout where you can buy, build everything, then you only really lose cash

Buy an anvil, you can easily take out a rocketeer with one. Bastion can be done at height with a few nades.

i've taken rocketeers down with a fero - you just have to take your time, be patient and careful.

I take in the hullcracker.

Can be bought from the trader for 30K (once per day) along with the ammo.

I use the anvil as my primary as these can be got daily for 15K (can get 3 a day) from the same trader.

This works on the Bastion, Bombardier, leaper and rocketeers

Yep plus you can find them all over the place. Think I had 8 without buying one. Just do a few weapon crate loops.

I've got a few renegades and Anvils. Actually think I have a renegade buprint. Will give the bigger Arcs a crack. Cheers all :)

Edit - also whats the best method for gaining money? Just selling loot? I have expanded my stash to 235 (I think). need 130k for the next upgrade

Yeah, just sell what you do not need.

Max storage is 280 (Max is 200K)
