ive also tried to beat my score a few times and cant, keep getting to the stage after the bonus and it just gets too hectic.

The most important pickup I've found is the money. One you see it, run past whoever is there to pick up. Having some of them turn to the music gives you time to try and keep sending beers to those who are actively coming down.
Some of them can be predictable in how far they will travel back before coming again, so I send them more beers just as they send me the glass. Although clearing enough of them gets hard very fast.

New high score 37225 finally got to the next level where the bars go in different direction

This is a really good idea, thank you for running this @Spacedeck. I finally got round to playing this today, I had a couple of runs, my current high score on 1 credit is 49275 playing the MiSTer Budweiser version.

. I tried a couple of times to beat my score and couldn't. No idea how I even managed it tbh! I did make it to the punk stage though which was quite cool.

i found it easier on mame on pc it didnt have the slowdown that you get playing on mister (which is the same as the original arcade machine).
If i can throw out a few suggestions for games i would enjoy putting some time into but havent for years - Q-Bert, frogger, arkanoid, bubble bobble, bomb jack, circus charlie, tron, things such as these.
Really annyoing i missed the first shake so i should have had 3000 more !

I had another crack this morning and somehow managed to squeeze out 71950! No idea how because I could not get anywhere close afterwards.
I have tried a variety of different things, and I tend to get stuck on the sports bar level (5) whilst trying to collect money. I managed to get to the last punk bar level and flopped! I was hoping to make it to the aliens (my score was no where near this during that run).

Thats a cracking score, if solely going for high score the best way to do it i think is not advance the levels, though they do get faster the longer you stick on one level.
Indeed, that is a cracking score! I've been too tired to do much of this, but will have a final go tonight after I've done house cleaning. I can't see me getting anywhere near that though.

Had a mild improvement. Edit - 55,000 on my next attempt - im getting too frustrated with it to play much more today though

Best I've come up with so far tonight is 47200. Going to still play it for a little until I get bored.
AAAND there it is! Took a while but I slowly kept increasing my score!
Since the deadline has come and gone, I've now selected a new game; Frogger. This is a highly accessible arcade game, so pretty much everyone on this forum could easily find this game to take part should they wish.

10830 is my best so far. Avoiding the snakes turns into a panic once it gets fast. @Metalface Mark yep, it should display Game Over once three lives lost.

Hit boxes are especially for that first one - i had a few games yesterday but couldnt get past 4800
