ArcheAge, Ultima Online's rebirth?

Just looks like Lineage 2 really but with more features?

I loved the early days of Lineage 2 though so this is no bad thing.

Why oh why won't somebody release an MMO without levels? I want the UO design back. Where the only way to increase a skill is to use the skill.
It's such a better system and once I oh so miss.
I have never seen the logic behind say using a sword continuously to go "up a level" and then once you level you increase your blacksmith skill. No!!
Use your skill and learn it.....grrrrr

Don't think many games used that approach. Neocron kind of did, it didn't have levels like in most RPG's and allowed you to use your skill points to determine your focus, but it did have a class system so it was a limited version.

I've just been watching the yogscast video's and actually I'm quite impressed with this game again. The combat needs to be slicker I think, but I've been watching some video's of caster abilities and death skills and conjure skills look like lots of fun.

I really hope they can pull it off.

No one will ever make another UO game. Although it was the best MMORPG I've ever played - the community, leveling and PvP system was awesome, I'm afraid it's now too complex for the majority. ;)

As always - it's hard to describe why UO was the best, unless you've played it.

Need one of those bigger indie companies to be brave and make a UO style MMO.

Hell I bet they could get enough players to make it worth while if they just remade UO with higher res textures!

Couldn't agree more with your whole post.

I can't help but hope that another game comes along that gives you that magic, it's probably why I continue to play games but never seem to stick at them. Only 2 games have come vaguely close for me; Wow which I played for years but eventually got bored, Minecraft is a different type of game. 99% of every other game I play I do not finish or get bored very quickly :(

You don't need to live in SK, you just need to know where to get an account. Unlucky for you however as Taiwan, China and Russia have been IP blocked :P. I believe it's because their publishers have been announced. The Western publisher is close to being announced, read this email

it looks like Aion & Crysis had a baby and called it ArcheAge!! :p

hopefully it will be as good as it looks, been watching this for a while now !!

What is the minimum specs of the beta? That game looks way to pretty to be a MMO lol Although I would love a new MMO. Been playing SWTOR, that game runs like crap :(

Same forum thread i copied them from had people saying it ran at 60fps maxed out on machines with things like Phenom 965's and 5770 GPU's so it doesn't sound too demanding hardware wise.

Wow, that's pretty :)

I like the seamless aspect - jumping into the sea and being able to swim all the way to the distant island on the horizon.

Written an article detailing what to expect from AA at release, to maybe calm any hype or unrealistic expectations. "Ultima Online's rebirth" being one ;)

The thread title was a question and not a statement. I guess if you worked for a better gaming site you'd understand the importance of the question mark. ;) .

If this game makes it to Europe and to the UK i bet you it will be under the evil free to play model that ruins so many games and there player base.
