Are ghosts real?

Just to start, I'm a skeptic.

I'm sat here watching Ghost Hunters on Sky with my girlfriend who does believe they exist, especially if people have died in the house.

Now I always try and poo poo anything they find but one particular experiment with a maglite, I can't figure out. Basically they take a maglite and back it off so it goes out, then place it on a table for the 'sprit' to manipulate. On command this light was turning on and off when the spirit was instructed.

So what do people think?

I could do exactly the same thing with a small wireless transmitter and a few minutes with a soldering iron.

i think it's just a trick matey, look at some of the magic tricks...the proper ones, they're unreal and hard to figure out.... i think it's all in the mind.

I very much doubt that if ghosts are real the only thing they can do is turn a mag lite on and off.

I mean, if real, with the amount of CCTV and everyone carrying a mobile that can take pictures, we'd simply have better proof ..

I think the word 'ghost' is more akin to a laymans expression, a bit like 'gut feeling' or 'sixth sense' rather than 'energy' or something else equivalent with similar connotations. I tend to look at ghosts as simply as something that occupies the same space as where you are right now for example, just that they are at a different vibration.
