Are you asking if you are using the gears correctly? It’s hard to tell from the sped up video.

I’m not being judgemental but if you want to improve your riding to make it safer and faster, have a read of this:

I doubt that your bike’s alternator is putting any charge into the battery with the engine idling.

None of the bikes I’ve owned put any charge into the battery with the engine idling. If you’ve fitted a new battery and it’s not charging, you need to get the alternator tested.

I revved the bike and on reading up the reading from my volt meter should have been 14.4v it was 12v

That does sound like the alternator is faulty. Check YouTube to see if there’s a how to video for your bike.

Most likely either a bad rectifier/regulator or a wiring problem (corrosion in connectors is a favourite). Worst case the stator is open circuit, but this is rare on small engined bikes.
