Are OCUK Forums in decline?

Not really. You can't be racist towards a certain race and be friends with some of them...That would merely mean you aren't actually racist at all, and you just have some underlying issues towards certain people.

Thanks for re-opening freefaller, hopefully it can actually be kept on topic this time. :)

"I'm not racist, I have 3 people in facebook friends list that are ethnic minorities. I never actually speak or socialise with them, but I keep them in the list as 'evidence' that I am not a bigot."

;)

We have the time to moderate and I feel we all do it to the best we can, and it has worked well, especially considering in the last 44 days we had ten thousand new members sign up to this forum.

What is difficult for us, is users saying that we should somehow moderate peoples posts more when technically they are not breaking any rules.

Rules need to be changed, or made to not be set in stone on this particular subject.

Some rules are fine to be set as they are:
No swearing - Easy
No abusing other members - Easy

Racism should be posts which can be perceived as being offensive to members of that race and generalizations of people, it's not something you can say "This is okay, this isn't" because it's not a subject which can be easily categorized.

they incite me and other right thinking British to hate what they have done to this country.

you ought to know that she represents most white British.

Perhaps they were the sort of whites who are happy for their own country to be invaded by foreigners and for their own culture to be destroyed. Idiots and traitors.

Britain has become a horrible place due to mass immigration of aliens.

When I meet blacks I am polite to them. However, I wish they weren't here.

I am proud of her, for speaking the truth which we all know is the truth.

Aedus, I don't like how dirtydog comes accross, but I personally don't think any of those are actionable.

I just laugh at his view point and move on.

I disagree with DD 100% in every way. However just to play devil's advocate...

He is offering his opinion - it's a tough call though. Personally I want to delete the posts, and suspend him for being intollerant, but can I really do that?! It is his perception of how he sees the world, we cannot change his opinion or who he is, it is sad the he feels the way he does :( However, it helps us appreciate how well balanced the rest of us are.

Congratulations.

I have a couple of friends who I guess are asian / pakistani. Do I see them? No...So I must be a biggot obviously

You've been doing some digging!

I suppose you can't really say he isn't racist.

Whether he is inciting racial hatred is another question though, I don't think he is really. He's just airing his own views and not encouraging others to follow them.

He also isn't directly insulting those other races, just expressing the fact he'd rather they weren't here. I suppose that could be a taken as an insult, but overall I don't think it is.

I did have a good laugh when he said he was 'proud' of that horrible woman in that video though. I mean come on... :p

Playing devil's devil advocate, why is the same not allowed for the topic of drugs?

Inciting racial hatred is a crime, so both things fall foul of the law.

Why can't people offer opinions on that topic?

Aedus, I don't agree with some posts made there by DirtyDog too, however I choose to ignore it as there is nothing there that unfortunately screams a rule break and has anything justifiable to ban/suspend/infract over.

You saying the swearing rule is easy to understand, and this would be easy to understand. But this is coming from yourself who has broken the rules many of times by swearing, and then you come onto me on Steam wondering why you are banned. :p

With a rule with no line is just going to get messy, and is technically not a rule as there is no rule of thumb to follow, and would just confuse everyone on the forum.

OCUK member is encouraged to take drugs (a possibility), anything bad happens to them = not good for OCUK.

Person reads an ignorant viewpoint, person agrees with said viewpoint = nothing happens at all unless they do something incredibly stupid.

People can discuss their opinions on it, however overtly talking about their drug taking is not acceptable or encouraging their use or trying to mitigate a reason for acceptance is not.

That "drugs smell" thread has been moderated but is still around discussing it. :)

I certainly have no burning desire to hook up with a colleagues gf behind his back, eat an insanity burger, or sink a cruise-liner off the coast of Italy. :p

No, you're just a dirty racist :p

On the subject of comments towards other people in general on the forums, this really annoys me. People, in general, show respect towards us moderators and we in turn are expected to show respect in return. I don't think it's a big ask to show some respect towards each other, no? Sure, people won't always agree and it would be a pretty dull place (like a car club) if we all shared the same viewpoint, but there is a difference in having a heated but mature debate and just insulting a member for his/her attitude and then having others jump on the bandwagon. I think a fine example of this, and whilst he sometimes posts odd things with little conent, is stockhausen.

I don't have time to open this up for debate now as I'm off lunch now, but think it's something that we should all think about - how we act towards others.

This and also certain drugs are also illegal too. Overclockers UK do not want to have any responsibility of any illegal actions and discussions on our forum.

Discussing taking them (in some depth) wouldn't be good. Discussing them generally and the legalities of it is allowed.

It's a just an obvious line in the sand.

Obviously creating a thread 'What C Class drug shall I take this weekend' would just be ridiculous, same as creating a thread about 'Why would you want to be an Englishman?'...However someone asking what long term affects does cannabis have on someone is completely different if people are giving their opinions on the matter.
