Are quads 'realy' that hot?

My q6600 go stepping loads at 68-68-62-62 at 3.8ghz, idle temps in the teens to mid 20's (most times mid 20's to low 30's depending on ambient temp) Think core 3 is stuck at idle.

Quads can be hot. The B3 q6600 is famous for this. My q9550 is not temperature limited though, it loads at about 65 at the highest voltage I'm prepared to offer it

This thread was started a year and a half ago and my 96deg quad is still going strong!
Pushing it much further now with a new board and water:D

Just shows how resilient the ol q6600 is:D

Yeah, I was so peeved with this Q6600 that it wouldn't be stable at anything over 3ghz I ran it on a suicide run at 3.6ghz with nearly 1.6 vcore on air. Temps hit 90 degrees on intel burn, before the whole pc just switched off. I let it cool for 2 minutes, cleared CMOS and it booted back up again as if nothing happened. Though, after that crazy run I am sure that I could get it stable at 1400 fsb before, but it won't now. Oh well.
